collistar grafite lacca (carisma)

collistar's grafite lacca, from their carisma collection for autumn 2011, is one of my favourite polishes ever. i got it as a present and simply love it!

this is the only collistar polish i own, and the one my friends used to borrow a bit too often. it has a brush similar to opi's, so it works awesome for me. the shade is the most perfect muddy of all times, just the right mixture of beige, taupe, grey with a dash of blue. 

formula is awesome, because everything abut this polish is awesome. i think i will never ever get to it's last drop (and i am approaching that stage) but i will continue preserving it and looking at it for the whole eternity.

chanel vertigo (les essentials de chanel)

it's about time i showed chanel vertigo, a part of chanel's fall 2012 trio, together with frenzy and suspicios (hitchcock, anyone?)  . 

it is a very complicated shade. it is dark, plummy brownish and greyish at the same time, i am pretty sure it looks different on different skin tones. in addition, it has that typical chanel hidden shimmer, when there is just enough of it for it not to be a creme. it is an elegant shade that i actually wore to my phd defense almost 4 years ago.

formula is decent. i am not a fan of chanel brush, it's too thin for my taste so i kind of stopped buying them lately because of this, but if you are happy with it, it's great. 

fun lacquer fashion show (new year 2016)

it's about time i showed yet another fun lacquer awesomeness, this time fashion show from the new year 2016 collection!

fashion show is such a complex polish and a complete chameleon. it is part purple, part blue and part grey and the side it shows heavily depends on the light. i took the direct sun pictures, that turn blue, got inside, it was more greyish, i went outside again and concluded that both indoors and outdoor pictures are faithful.

on top of the shade versatility, we have this dense golden holo glitter. simply awesome! formula is also great, it takes a tiny bit more effort to take it off but it's worth it.

mnogo mi je smešno kad gledam zaostale postove iz moje prethodne zemlje pre selidbe, kad sam konstatno imala taman ten, u kontrastu sa imenom ovog laka.

winter je prelepa nijansa srednje sive, kombinovan sa jednim od mojih omiljenih finiša. holo ljuspicama. lak je za mazanje i savršen za sezonu džempera!

i find it so funny to look at my swatches made in my previous country of residence, since i was constantly so tanned, in contrast with the name of this polish!

winter is a gorgeous shade of medium grey, combined with one of my favourite finishes: holographic flakies. it is very easy to work with and it's perfect for sweater weather!

dior gris montaigne (gris city)

gris montaigne je prelepa siva iz dior-ove kolekcije gris city iz 2011.

gris montaigne is a really gorgeous grey from dior's old 2011 collection, gris city.

gris montaigne je savršen lak! nema veze koliko ga puta slikam, uvek ispadne tamniji nego uživo. takođe, ovo je jedna od najsivljih sivih koje posedujem, bez skoro nimalo plavog podtona ali sam odustala (za sad) od pokušavanja da ga uhvatim tačno.

boja je vrlo duboka i zasićena, a iako je stari lak, formula je savršena.

prirodna svetlost:

gris montaigne is so so gorgeous. whenever i took pictures of it, it turned out to look darker than it really is. also, it is one of the truest grey shades i have, with almost no blue undertone, but i gave up on trying to get it right.

the colour is very saturated, and even though it's old, formula is dreamy.

u još jednom postu u kom vadim lak iz naftalina, predstavljam jedan od moja prva dva china glaze laka, awaken iz romantique kolekcije iz davne 2008me.

in another blast from the past post, i am showing one of two first china glaze polishes i ever bought, awaken from romantique collection back in 2008.

awaken je zaista fantastičan lak, i čak ovako retroaktivno mogu da vidim zašto sam ga izabrala već na samom početku mog lakoholizma.

boja je prelepa gunmetal siva, sam metalik završnicom. formula je savršena, bez imalo brazdi. yaista prelep i moderan.

awaken is a really stunning polish and even in retrospective, i can see why i picked it at the very beginning of my nailpolish addiction,

the color is just amazing gunmetal grey with a metallic finish. the formula is great, no streaking at all. it is just so pretty and edgy.

a england cathy (to emily bronte)

čini mi se da sam zanemarila a england lakove, tako da sam rešila da to promenim uz cathy iz to emily bronte kolekcije.

it's been a while since i wrote about a england polishes, so i'm going for cathy from to emily bronte collection.

ozbiljno sam zaljubljena u cathy. nijansa je tako lepa, tako jedinstvena. cathy je bleda, neobična siva s lila tonom, uz diskretan holo šimer i iridiscentni plavi šimer kao šlag na tortu. konačni utisak je više nego savršen.

formula je malo gušća nego što bi se očekivalo, ali i dalje fina i kremasta.

prirodna svetlost:

i am seriously in love with cathy. the shade is so pretty, so unique. it is a pale, unusual grey with a hint of lillac, combined with subtle holo effect with some iridescent blue shimmer that makes it stand out even more.

formula is slightly thicker than you would expect, but nice and creamy nevertheless.

dior metropolis (cosmopolite)

moj jedini izbor iz dior-ove jesenje kolekcije, cosmopolite, je metropolis.

my only pick from dior's fall collection, cosmopolite, is metropolis.

moj prvi instinkt je bio da preskočim celu kolekciju, ali metropolis je stvarno lak po mom ukusu.

na mojim slikama je blago tamniji nego kako izgleda uživo. nikad nisam verovala da će postojati lak koji je istovremeno i zelen i siv, ali na moju sreću, dior ga je napravio!

formula je besprekorna i lak zaista savršen. možda izgleda kao jednostavna nijansa, ali je tako dubok i lep. definitivno ima moju preporuku.

my first instinct was to ignore the entire collection, but metropolis was really screaming my name.

my pictures are slightly darker than what it looks like in real life. i never knew that there will ever be a polish that's at the same time green and grey, but, to my joy, dior made it!

the formula is flawless and the polish just so gorgeous.  it might look like a simple shade, but it is so deep and pretty.  it definitely has my recommendation.

gris trianon je jedini lak koji nije roze u dior-ovoj cherry bow kolekciji za proleće 2012.

gris trianon is the only non-pink polish in dior's cherie bow collection for spring 2012.

obožavam dior-ove sive lakove i izgleda da ne mogu da im odolim. ovaj je doduše više "greige", odnosno, negde između sive i bež, i zaista izgleda lepo na noktima.

formula je besprekorna i zaista ne mogu da mu nađem manu. lakovi ovog tipa su mi uvek izbor kad hoću da se osećam malo ozbiljnijom ;)

i love dior's grey polishes and it seems like i can't resist them. this one is more of a greige, a combination of grey and beige, and it looks really pretty on nails.

the formula is flawless and there is nothing to complain about. i love wearing polishes like this when i feel like i want to be a bit more serious.

gris deco je jedan od mojih omiljenih ysl lakova, prosto očaravajuć!

nijansa je svetlo siva, koja izgleda delikatno i čisto. ima sasvim malo šimera, ne toliko vidljivog na noktu, samo da učini formulu jednostavnijom. i jeste odlična, baš onakva na kakvu me je ysl navikao.

 gris deco is one of my favourite ysl polishes. it is just stunning!

the colour is a pale grey, that looks so delicate and clean. it has a little bit of shimmer in it, not too visible on the nail, just making the formula going smoothly. and it is smooth, just as ysl spoiled me on.

dance legend velvet 648

danas pokazujem lak iz dance legend velvet kolekcije (ili  Бархат na ruskom), broj 648.

u poslednje vreme mi se vratila opsesija mat završnicom. znam znam, uz mat nadlak možemo sve da matiramo, ali opet volim kad lak inicijalno izgleda mat.

648 (volela bih da ima ime) je zaista prelep. boja je vrlo bogata, mešavina tamno sive i plave, sa dubokim šimerom i prelepim somotskin izgledom. formula je odlična, bez brazdi i problema. prosto prelep.

prirodna svetlost:

lately, my love for matte finishes reemerged. i know i know, you can mattify anything, but i still like polishes that have the effect to begin with.

648 (i wish it had a name) is really gorgeous. colour is very rich, a mix of dark grey and blue, with rich shimmer and amazing velvet finish. the formula is good, no streaking and difficulties. just gorgeous.

dance legend grey britain (smoky)

iskoristila sam jednu od llarowe rasprodaja da uzmem grey britain, ali mi se toliko svideo da sam dodala još dva na listu. kolekcija se zove smoky i zaista je zadimljena. grey britain je zanimljiva nijansa sive, i donje slike su dosta verne. sitne, crne šljokice (u nedostatku boljeg izraza), daju laku spomenuti zadimljeni izgled.

formula je nešto tečnija, tako da nosim tri sloja,

direktno sunce:

i took advantage of a llarowe sale to get grey britain, but got so in love that i already put two more on the list. the name of collection is smoky, and it sure is! grey britain is an interesting shade of grey, and bottom pictures are more accurate. the tiny black glitter, in lack of a better word, is running through it, creating the said smoky effect.

formula is a bit runny, so i had to go with three coats.

prošlo je dosta vremena od kad sam imala china glaze na blogu, pa probijam led sa stone cold z capitol colors kolekcije za proleće 2012.

it's been a while since i had a china glaze on the blog, and stone cold from the capitol colors collection for the spring 2012 is a good icebreaker.

možda je čudno, ali meni je ovaj lak vrlo elegantan. čak sam ga nosila na nekoliko venčanja. možda je zbog mat završnice, možda jer doživljavam svaku nijansu sive kao elegantnu, čak i ako podseća na asfalt.

može biti jednoslojac, i bolje je ako vam uspe pošto se suši vrlo brzo pa nanošenje drugog sloja može da bude nezgodno. ali, ako su vam slojevi dovoljno tanki, nema problema.

prirodna svetlost:

it may be weird, but i see this polish as super elegant. i wore it to a couple of weddings, actually. maybe it's because of the matte finish, maybe because i see all shades of grey as elegant, even when they are asphalt-like.

it can be a one coater, and it is better if you try to pull it off, because it dries really quickly so the second coat can be a bit tricky. if you keep your coats thin, it's actually not a problem.

posle briarwood, koristim sunčane dane da pokažem a england fated prince iz burne-jones dream kolekcije.

after briarwood, i'm taking advantage of the perfect weather to show a england fated prince from burne-jones dream collection.

obožavam a england holo lakove, stvarno su mala remek dela. po meni, tamno siva je odlična podloga za holo lakove, baš predstavlja dobar zaokret tamnim nijansama.

ideja a england je bila da lak predstavlja boju čelika herojevog mača. holografski efekat je očigledan i u senci ali, naravno, na suncu potpuno oživi. formula je fantastična, kao što se i očekuje od ovih lakova.

prirodna svetlost:

i do love a england's holos, they are really a thing of beauty. in my opinion, charcoal grey is a great option for a holographic polish, it really gives a twist to dark shades.

a england's idea was for it to resemble "the tempered steel of a hero's blade". the holographic effect is not muted even in shade, but at sunlight it really becomes alive. formula is great, as usual for their polishes.

ysl gris underground (autumn 2013)

ne volim da su mi dva posta uzastopno o istom brendu, ali pošto sam kući na odomoru i ne slikam nokte, moram da koristim ono što imam. tako da, opet je na redu ysl, ovaj put prelepi gris underground iz ovogodišnje jesenje kolekcije.

i don't like to post the same brand twice in a row, but since i'm home on holidays and i'm not making swatches, i have to work with what i have, and this time it's ysl again, with the gorgeous gris underground from the last autumn collection.

u poslednje vreme sam zavolela ovakve lakove. nijansa je neobična siva, sa dosta plavih i lavanda tonova. nekako mi je istovremeno i ušuškana i oblačna- u pitanju je krema koja je na ivici da postane pastelna.

formula je, kao i uvek, fantastična. ne nosim nadlak, zato što sam u ovoj situaciji već lagano ostajala bez essence top sealera, i pokušavala da ga uštedim, tako da mogu da kažem da je sušenje bilo brzo.

prirodna svetlost:

lately, i really started to like these type of shades. it's a really strange grey shade, with lavander and blue tones. i find it to be soft and cloudy at the same time. it is a creme that is strongly leaning to the pastel kind of polishes.

the formula is, as usual, flawless and smooth. i'm not wearing a top coat, because at this point i was on my last drops of essence's top sealer and trying to save it, so i can say that the drying time was rather fast.

dior mystic magnetic (mystic metallics)

dior-ov mystic magnetic je njihov prvi magnetni lak iz jesenje mystic metallic kolekcije, uz galaxie i destin.

dior's mystic magnetic is their first magnetic polish, from the autumn mystic metallic collection, together with galaxie and destin.

moram da priznam, da kad sam uzela ovaj lak, namera mi je bila da ga nosim takvog kakav jeste, bez mučenja s magnetom. boja me je očarala, kombinacija sive i dimno plave. to što je magnetni ga čini dosta pigmentovanim, pravi je jednoslojac ali uz dobru formulu. slike bez magneta su na dnu stranice.

kasnije sam postala radoznala po pitanju magnetnog efekta. prvi put sam pratila uputstva: jedan sloj laka, pa još jedan sloj nokat po nokat, uz držanje magneta vrlo blizu površine 20ak sekundi. ispalo je ok, ali sam bila ubeđena da je i jedan sloj dovoljan, tako da su slike iz tog testa, tj. sa samo jednim slojem.

čak i za smotanu mene, magnet je bio jednostavan za upotrebu i efekat mi je odličan. trudila sam se da uhvatim sićušne holo čestice, ali su blago vidljive samo na par slika pod direktnim suncem.

senka:

i have to admit, when i got this polish, my only intention was to wear it as it is, without bothering with the magnet. i was mesmerized by the colour, a combination of grey and smoking blue. the fact that it's magnetic means it's very pigmented, so a true one coater, but the application was really easy. these pictures are at the bottom of the page.

then, i got curious about the magnetic effect. the first time i did it according to the instructions: one layer of polish, than after putting another coat on each nail, i held the magnet close to the nail for 20ish seconds. it turned out ok, but i got pretty convinced one coat was enough, so the pictures i'm showing are with one coat.

even for me (i am really clumsy) this was easy to use and i like the effect. i tried so hard to capture tiny holo particles, but they are just barely visible on the direct sunlight photos.

shade:

chanel black pearl (spring 2011)

this post is long overdue, but i guess that i love this polish so much that i was never really happy with the pictures. i gave up now, so i present you the amazing chanel black pearl, from their 2011 spring collection.

this polish is not your typical grey polish, and not only because of the gorgeous green-teal microshimmer that runs through it. for me, it is elegant and edgy at the same time. since the finish is metallic, it is a bit brushstrokey.

this is, by far, my most used chanel, so i decided to bring it back home because i don't want to be tempted to wear it for a while (it's discontinued).  i also have the best dupe out there, catrice captain sparrow's boat, and i was using this one heavily too. of course it's also discontinued :(

i made sooo many pictures of this one, and honestly, i think it's beauty is not really transferable to photos.

opi kaže da ova "mistično-zelena kalajna nijansa zahteva pažnju". moram priznati da do sad nisam znala za nijansu kalaja :D ja ga vidim kao plavičastog brata the world is not enough, i podjednako nezgodnog za opisivanje. boja je hladna čelično plavo-srebrno-siva sa raznobojnim staklastim šimerom, uglavnom zlatnim, roze, zelenim i plavim.
nije previše pigmentovan i potrebna su mu tri sloja, opet kao kod njegovog blatnjavijeg brata, ali se pokrivenost i boja lepo nadograđuju.

dosta devojaka se žalilo na čudnjikav miris, ali moj je imao tipični miris običnog laka.

prirodna svetlost:

opi says that "this misty-green pewter commands attention." i see it as the world is not enough's bluish brother, and similarly difficult to describe. it is a cool toned steel blue-pewter-silver-grey polish with multicolored glass flecks, namely gold, pink, green, and blue.


it is rather sheer and needs three coats, again as its taupe brother :D, but the opacity and color build up nicely.


many girls said that it has a weird smell, but i didn't notice it with my bottle.

french: awaken chic

današnji tematski petak je posvećen francuskom manikiru i bila sam ubeđena da ću ga preskočiti. nisam obožavateljka frenča, nikada ga nisam nosila niti bi išao na moje uvek kratke nokte. ipak, devojke su počele da spominju netradicionalne ideje, pa sam rešila da se ipak pridružim.
prvobitno sam imala drugu ideju, ali me je malo stislo grlo i sam miris skidača laka me iritira, pa sam rešila samo da nadogradim essence chic reloaded koji sam već imala na noktima, sa china glaze awaken. da, malo sam promenila proceduru, umesto da dodam boju na krajeve noktiju, ja sam dodala gornji sloj, nešto u stilu obrnutog ruffian-a :D

it is a french manicure themed friday, and i almost missed it. i'm not a fan of the classic french, i never wore it and it would be a no go on my always short nails. but then the girls mentioned the non-classical french ideas, and i decided to give it a try.

i had something else in mind, but i have a sore throat and just a bit of nail polish remover's smell bothers me, so i decided to upgrade essence chic reloaded that i already had on, with china glaze awaken. yup, i did it in reverse order, i didn't paint the tips but the top of the nail, some kind of backward ruffian :D

opi i have a herring problem (holland collection)

only when i started writing this post, i realized that i have a herring problem is my only polish from opi's last spring's holland collection. there are definitely a few more on my wishlist (dutch ya, rotterdam and gouda). 

actually, it is only appropriate that herring is my first, considering for how long i had a dilemma, herring or rotterdam. i am happy i opted for the former, but i'm pretty sure i'll get rotterdam at some point.

the promo picture says: "what’s that you say? i need to “sea” this shimmery green-blue?"

i see it as a dusty, gloomy grey toned-blue with dense silver shimmer that borders on being glass-flecked.  i find it to be perfect for winter, or those rainy days in spring. formula is good, a bit sheer after the first coat but completely opaque after second.
