today i am showing you a special edition picture polish, free, that is so far my favourite polish of 2017.

if you live in australia, you get this polish for free (hence the name) with your purchase. luckily, us non-australians can still buy it regularly. and this polish is truly divine! it has a duochrome effect, shifting from teal to blue, with awesome holo shimmer. 

the formula is awesome, it simply flows. i couldn't stop looking at my nails, so i am posting a bit more photos than usual, because it is truly a chameleon. i took pictures under direct sunlight, slight overcast and in shade, and it is stunning in every condition,

today i am (finally) showing sephora's polish keep me posted from their makeup academy nails for holiday season 2013/2014.

ni ne sećam se kad mi je draga jelena poklonila ovaj lak, ali moja new in sekcija na blogu ne laže: bio je to januar 2014! na žalost, ovo je jedan od onih lakova koje nikad ne uhvatite potpuno verno, i uvek sam pokušavala da napravim bolje slike, dok na kraju nisam iskapila bočicu i moram da se zadovoljim slikama koje imam.

keep me posted je jedan od onih plavičastih petrolej lakova koji uvek ispadaju ili previše plavi ili zeleni. rekla bih da moje slike pojačavaju zeleni podton. postavila sam dva seta slika, sa dve različite kamere, i obe su verne u određenim uslovima :) formula je bila solidna, i ovo je bilo moje prvo iskustvo sa sephora četkicom koje je odlično prošlo!

i don't even remember when darling jelena gave me this polish, but my new in section doesn't lie: january 2014! unfortunately, it's one of those shade that you can never fully capture, so i always aimed for better, more faithful pictures until i actually emptied the bottle and i had to work with what i have!

keep me posted is one of those blueish teals, that either look too blue or too green. i would say that the green undertone is a bit less pronounced as my pictures show. there are two sets of photos, with two different cameras, and both are equally faithful in certain light. formula was nice, and it was my first experience with sephora brush and it went smoothly (pun intended!)

franken polish: pattern by shine eye

danas sam raspoložena da pokažem još jedan od mojih franken lakova, a ovaj sam nazvala pattern.

i felt like showing off another one of my franken polishes, and this one is named pattern.

pattern je nekako najbolji pokazatelj činjenice da je većina lakova koje sam potrošila zelena i plava. ovo je zelena koja dosta naginje ka petroleju, sa ljuspičastim srebrnim šimerom.

da sam videla ovakav lak u prodaji, sigurno bih ga uzela, definitivno je moj tip boje. nazvala sam ga po jednoj od mojih omiljenih pesama sa poslednjeg albuma the last shadow puppets.

pattern actually shows that the majority of the polishes i used up are all sorts of greens and blues. it is a teal-leaning green, with some flaky type of silver shimmer.

if i saw this polish in a store, i would definitely get it. it really is my type of shade. i named it after of of my favourite songs from the last shadow puppets' last album.

fun lacquer glitzy glam (summer 2015)

završavam moju pauzu od 10ak dana (putovanja, posao, odmor) pravim draguljem: glitzy glam iz f. u. n. lacquer kolekcije za leto 2015.

i am breaking my 10 day hiatus (travels, work, holidays) with a true gem: glitzy glam from f. u. n. lacquer collection for summer 2015.

glitzy glam je neverovatno prelep. duboka, bogata petrolej nijansa za zlatkastim holo šljokicama različitih veličina za koje sada mogu slobodno da kažem da su zaštitni znak f. u. n. lacquer.

gotovo preko noći sam se zaljubila u njihove lakove i nadam se da će se tako nastaviti.

glitzy glam is simply stunning. a rich teal shade, filled with goldish holographic glitter of various sizes, which i can safely say at this point that it's a signature thing of f. u. n. lacquer.

i fell in love with their polishes and i hope this love will continue.

vreme je za još jednu picture polish kolaboraciju i izabrala sam escapades kog je osmislila malene sa nail escapades bloga.

it's time for  another picture polish collaboration shade, and i chose escapades created with the idea of malene from nail escapdes blog.

znala sam da ovom laku neću odoleti, jer obožavam petrolej boju na noktima. escapades je veoma tamna petrolej nijansa, ali definitivno ne izgleda crno.

iako je jelly, odlično je pigmentovan uz dodatak holo čestica koje zaista dobro izgledaju uz baznu boju. formula je odlična i sjajno se maže. definitivno preporuka za ovaj lak.

i knew  that i can't miss this one, because i love having teal on my nails. escapades is a really dark teal, but still far from black.

it is a highly saturated jelly, with amazing holo particles that really fit well with the dark teal. formula is great, it really flows nicely. i highly recommend this polish.

a england proserpine (rossetti’s goddess)

proserpine je jedan od mojih najnovijih lakova, i još jedan u listi a england lepotana, ovaj put iz rossetti's goddess kolekcije.

proserpine is one of the newest additions to my collection, and it's another a england masterpiece from rossetti’s goddess collection.

moj strah da će proserpine biti previše sličan drugoj a england lepoti, saint george, na sreću nije bio opravdan. iako su oba duboke, bogate petrolej nijanse, proserpine je dosta plavlji.

stvarno je prelep lak, sa fantastičnim holo efektom i formulom. svakako moja nijansa!

my fear that proserpine would be too close to another a england beauty, saint george, was luckily not correct. while they are both rich, deep teals, proserpine is much more blue.

it really is a stunning polish, with amazing holo effect and formula. my type of shade for sure!

chanel mediterranee (mediterranee)

chanel nam je dao četiri laka u ovoj letnjoj kolekciji, mediterranee. kružila sam oko lavanda i terrana, ali na kraju uzela samo mediterranee. verovatno ću zažaliti što sam se ograničila samo na jednog.

chanel gave us four polishes in their summer collection, mediterranee. i was circling around lavanda and terrana, but took only mediterranee. i might be regretting taking only one.

ove tilkasto plavičaste nijanse su mi slaba tačka. teško se slikaju i izgledaju drugačije na svakoj slici, tako da su sve ove slike i tačne i netačne.

mediterranee je stvarno lepa mutna plava. nije previše upečatljiva, ali opet prelepa na noktima.

these tealish-blue shades are my soft spot. they are hard to photograph, and look different in different lighting, so all of these pictures are both accurate and inaccurate.

it is a really pretty muted blue. looks not to flashy, but still amazing on the nails. i really am a fan!

nije mi trebalo više od jednog pogleda na tek namazane nokte da počnem da smatram ovaj lak jednim od omiljenih. u pitanju je prelepa petrolej zelena sa sitnim ali gustim holo česticama. potpuno je magičan. bez obzira na to da li ste na suncu ili ne.

formula je odlična i suši se bez neravnina. ozbiljno, naručite svoj primerak!

it didn't take more than one look at my nails to start calling this polish one of my favourites. it is a beautiful tealish green, with amazing tiny but dense holo particles. it is truly magical, no matter if you are indoors or outdoors.


formula is great, and it dries smoothly. seriously, get one!

catrice mermaid my day (44)

na poslednjem putovanju, slučajno sam naletela na catrice štand, i to me je baš usrećilo. naravno da je mermaid my day uspeo da mi se ušunja u korpu.

on my last travel, i unexpectedly came across catrice stand, which made me really happy. of course that mermaid my day found its way into my shopping bag.

pošto se moja catrice gomilica prilično smanjuje (trenutno u fioci imam šest bočica koje čekaju poslednje mazanje), iskoristila sam priliku da osvežim kolekciju.

kada lak ima reč "sirena" u imenu, ne moram ni da ga pogledam, odmah znam da ga želim, pa ni ovaj lak nije izuzetak. u pitanju je metalik petrolej lak sa gustim srebrnim šimerom. naravno, kao i svaki metalik, tragovi četkice su vidljivi, ali mi to ne smeta jer je lak baš po mom ukusu.

zaboravila sam da slikam četkicu, koja izgleda potpuno čudno ali je, bar meni, bolja od prethodne. pošto imam još dva noviteta, prikazaću je sledeći put.

with my catrice stash getting smaller and smaller (i actually have six bottles in the drawer waiting for their last hurrah), it felt really good to refresh my collection.

when a polish has "mermaid" in its name, i know without looking at it that i want it. this one wasn't an exception. it's a teal, metallic polish with dense silver shimmer. like most of metallics, it is brushstrokey, but i really don't mind it. it really is my type of polish.

i forgot to take a photo of the brush, which looks really strange, but is actually better than the previous version. since i have two more catrices, i will photograph it for the next post.

ysl vert d' orient (summer 2013)

jedan od lakova koje sam baš iščekivala prošle godine je vert d'orient is ysl letnje kolekcije.

one of the polishes i was really trying to put my hands on last year is vert d'orient from ysl summer collection.

verovatno je dovoljno da kažem samo ysl i petrolej i da bude jasno koliko volim ovaj lak. šalu na stranu, stvarno je prelep. boja sama po sebi možda i nije jedinstvena, ali iz nekog razloga imate osećaj kao da jeste. volim petrolej kreme, a ova uz to ima i savršenu formulu i četkicu. ova petrolej nijansa malo više povlači na zeleno nego što moje slike pokazuju.

zaljubila sam se u vert čim sam videla promo slile, ali, na žalost, ova kolekcija nikad nije stigla u srbiju niti u zemlju u kojoj sam tad živela. samo zbog truda dragih lakoholičarki sam ga se dokopala. poprilično me nervira činjenica da sada, pošto živim u zemlji bez ysl štanda, a i neću toliko putovati ove godine, moraću da ulažem mnogo truda da zadovoljim svoju ysl zavisnost.

 i guess i could just write ysl and teal and it would be obvious how much i love this polish. jokes aside, it is gorgeous. the colour itself may not be the most unique in the world, but for some reason it feels like it is. i love teal cremes, and this one has an amazing formula and brush, so it is perfect. the teal is leaning a bit more to the green than what my photos show.

i fell in love with it the second i saw the promo pictures, but, unfortunately, the collection never arrived to serbia or to the country i lived at the time. it was only because of the efforts from my fellow nailpolish addict that it is mine. i feel really frustrated now that the country i live in now doesn't even have ysl counter, and since i'm not going to travel so much this year, i will have to put a lot of effort in taking care of my ysl fix :(

essence choose me! (colour& go 38)

choose me! je bio moj omiljeni essence lak. jedini razlog zašto sam uzela nyx sea of cortez je jer sam konačno mogla opušteno da mažem choose me bez straha da ću ga potrošiti.

choose me! was my favourite essence polish. the only reason i got nyx sea of cortez is because i finally could wear this one without the fear of emptying it!
 

ispostavilo se da mu je nyx sea of cortez skoro identičan (u stvari, oba su "kopije" zoya charla) tako da, sve što sam napisala za nyx važi i ovde. slike su iz dve različite prilike, jer sam prvi put zaboravila slike u zatvorenom. u stvari, ovaj poslednji put, lak mi je bio već gotov tako da sam na desnoj ruci imala nyx, a razlika se nije mogla primetiti!

ne mogu da nosim ovaj lak a da ne pomislim na more i sirene. baza je plavkasto/petrolej žele, sa zlatnim ljuspicama i zelenim šimerom. iako je prelep, malo me nervira što ovim lakovima treba tri sloka, pa čak i tad, linija nokta ume da se providi. ipak, toliko mi je drag ovaj tip laka da ću uzeti i charlu kad se nyx približi svom kraju.

it turned out that nyx sea of cortez is it's exact dupe (or, i should say, both of them are dupes for zoya's charla), so all that i wrote about nyx, applies here. i'm posting pictures from two different occasions, since the first time i didn't make indoors pics. actually, that time i was already short on the polish, so i wore nyx on my right hand, and the difference was unnoticeable!

you can't wear this polish without thinking of mermaids! the base colour is bluish/tealish jelly with golden flakies and green shimmer. while it is pretty gorgeous, it's annoying that both of these polishes need three coats, and even with that, nail line can be visible. nevertheless, i plan to get charla too, once nyx approaches it's end.

essie naughty nautical (summer 2013)

another title of this post, where i'm showing essie naughty nautical from their summer 2013 collection, could be "if you have this option, run and buy this polish as fast as you can"!

i'm not really mad about essie. i don't know what really puts me off this brand, but i never look into new collections and drool over them. luckily, i saw swatches of this one, and i immediately fell in love.

essie describes it as "shimmering, brilliant blue-green nail polish". it bears resemblance to my other love, essence mojito green, only this one's slightly bluer and the silver glass-flecked shimmer is larger. it's somewhere between being blue and teal, which makes it hard to capture, and i think you ought to imagine it just slightly greener than the in the images. the shimmer is amazing, always visible but not in your face. 

the formula is amazing, the polish basically applies itself. i can see myself wearing this one quite often, so, if you have the chance, i advise you not to pass on it, since i think it goes well with various skintones.

essence the incredible (superheroes)

essence limited edition kolekcije su mi već neko vreme nezanimljive, ali je superheroes fina promena. na žalost, jedini lak kog sam uspela da se dokopam je the incredible, označen kao teksturni lak.

it's been a while since i was excited about a limited edition from essence, and superheroes is a change from that trend. unfortunately, the only polish i could get my hands on was the incredible, with the sand effect tag.

ovaj lak sam uzela pre oko dva meseca bez provere, kada sam bila u evropi zbog odbrane doktorata. tad je ova kolekcija tek izašla, pa nisam videla svočeve, ali mislim da bih preskočila ovaj lak da jesam.

the inceridble je srednje plavo-petrolej lak sa petrolej šimerom i teksturnom završnicom. ono što mi se ne sviđa je da teksturni efekat nije dovoljno izražen, izgleda nekako gromuljičavo. četkica i formula su prililčno dobri, ali je vreme sušenja nešto duže nego kod ostalih liquid sand lakova koje sam probala, i suši se polumat.

ovde imam bazni lak (china glaze strong adhesion) i dva sloja laka.

i got this polish as a whim almost two months ago when i was back in europe for my phd defence. the le has just got out, so i never saw the swatches, but i think that if i did, i would pass on this one.

the incredible is a medium blue - teal polish with teal shimmer and the sand effect finish. my problem with it is that the texture is not pronounced as it should be, it is on the verge on looking like there are little lumps in the polish. the brush and formula are solid, but the drying time is a bit longer than with other liquid sand polishes i tried. it dries semi matte.

here, i have a base coat (china glaze strong adhesion) and two coats of polish.

tounge & chic je izašao u jednoj od novijih china glaze kolekcija, autumn nights.

kupila sam ovaj lak pred kraj avgusta, i već sam uspela da ga mažem bar pet puta. malo je falilo da ga preskočim, jer mi se činilo da sam počela da preterujem sa ovakvim nijansama, ali je svakako jedinstven.

lak je potpuno fantastičan, tamna, hladna, duboka petrolej nijansa sa metalik šimerom. primećen je svaki put kad sam ga nosila, i to od strane oba pola. iako sam ga često nosila, toliko me je opčinio da nisam ni jednom bila zadovoljna slikama jer mi se činilo da je uživo još lepši.

za mene je jedini problem što je formula malo pregusta, jedna od onih skoro-jednoslojaca, i zbog toga (uz kombinaciju sa cg četkicom koja mi je generalno preuska) ni jednom nisam uspela da izvučem lep luk. ipak, mislim da je to mala cena za ovu lepotu.

i bought this polish in the end of august, and i already managed to wear it at least five times. and i almost missed out on it, because i tought i'm really overdoing it with these sorts of shade, but it surely is unique.

it's such a rich shade, dark, cool teal with metallic shimmer, definitely a stunner, since it never got unnoticed when i had it on my nails. i got compliments from both sexes! i wore it a lot, and got so mesmerized by it that i was never happy with the pictures, i don't think they do it justice.

for me, the only problem is that it is slightly thick, one of those almost one-coaters, and because of that (and the fact that i generally don't like cg's narrow brush), i could never really apply it perfectly, but that's a small price to pay for gorgeousness!

essence trust in fashion (colour&go 54)

za mene, essence trust in fashion (colour & go 54, iz proleća 2011) je bio savršenstvo u bočici, i baš je šreta da je povučen.

for me, essence's trust in fashion (colour & go 54, from spring 2011) was a perfection in a bottle, and it's such a pity it's discontinued.

toliko mi je žao da nemam više ni kapljicu ovog laka. on je definitivno bio prvi kojim sam bila opsednuta, i iskapila sam tre bočice! baš mi nedostaje ova nijansa, i ako imate predloge za slične, veoma ćete me obradovati!

boja je prelepa, duboka tamnozelena sa jakim plavim podtonom, definitivno moja nijansa koje mi nikad neće biti dosta! formula je bila malo gušća, ali ništa previše komplikovano.

i am so sad that i don't have a drop of this polish left. it was the first one that i was actually obsessed with, and i finished three bottles! i miss this one a lot, and if you have suggestions for dupes, it'll make me very happy!

the colour is amazing, deep dark green with a strong blue undertone, definitely a shade that makes my heart beat faster! formula was a bit thick, but nothing too difficult to work with.

dior samba (birds of paradise)

za ovo leto, dior je osmislio dva seta po dva laka u birds of paradise kolekciji. dok me set baia nije preterano zanimao, drugi set po imenu samba sadrži boje za koje sam znala da ću ih voleti a da ih ni ne vidim uživo, tako da sam bila srećna da sam ga uhvatila na poslednjem putovanju.

danas predstavljam sambu 794.

for this summer, dior came up with two sets of polishes in the birds of paradise collection. while i had no interest in getting bahia, the other set called samba consists of colors that i know i'll love even without seeing them in real life, and i'm happy that i got it in my latest trip.

today, it's time for samba 794.

samba 794 je opisana kao "metalik peacock (paun) zelena", ali je, po meni, više petrolej koji naginje ka plavoj. nijansa je stvarno prelepa i uživo je mnogo interesantniji nego na slikama. šimer je divan i daje mu nekakav unutrašnji sjaj a duohrom efekat ume da povuče i na zlatkasto.

bočica je manja nego kod regularnih dior lakova (7 ml). i četkica je drugačija, ima istu širinu kao standardna ali je ravna, što je plus za one koji ne vole regularno sečenu dior četkicu (ja je, inače, obožavam). posle jednog sloja je pomalo proziran, ali sa dva se dobija savršena pokrivenost. postoji i poneki vidljivi potez četkice, ali nisu izraženi.

oduševljena sam ovom nijansom i mislim da je savršena za leto!

samba 794 is described as "metallic peacock green", but it is more of a teal going on blue. it really is gorgeous and pictures don't do it justice. the shimmer is amazing and gives it a bit of a glow, and the duochrome effect can make it look even goldish.


the bottle is smaller than for the regular dior polish (7 ml). the brush is a bit different too, it has the same width, but it is flat, so this is a plus for those of you who don't like the regularly cut dior brush (i actually love the standard one). it is a bit sheer with one coat, but the second one gives complete coverage. there are some visible brush strokes, but they are subtle.

i love this polish and i think it's great for the summer!

catrice - san francisco (big city life collection)

san francisco je izašao kao deo druge big city life kolekcije od catrice. iako sam ga uzela još u novembru, zima me je sprečila da tad napravim pristojne slike.

san francisco came out as a part of the second catrice's big city life collection back in november, but the winter didn't allow me to make decent photos.

obožavam ovaj lak! svi već znamo koliko volim zelembaće, a ovaj još naginje ka petrolej nijansi sa suptilnim srebrnim šimerom koji nekako daje efekat unutrašnjeg sjaja.

za divno čudo, iako je ova kolekcija izašla u periodu kada je catrice počeo da kvari svoju savršenu četkicu i formulu, ovaj lak je primer njihove odličnosti zbog koje sam catrice drugo vremena smatrala omiljenim drugstore brendom.

i just adore this shade. we all know i'm crazy for greens, and this beauty is even leaning towards teal, with the subtle silver shimmer that somehow lights it up from within.


surprisingly, even though this polish appeared around that time when at catrice they started to worsen the brush and formula, this one is the example of all the reasons why i considered catrice to be my favourite drugstore brand for a long time .

nyx girls: sea of cortez ngp 200

skoro sam stajala ispred police sa nyx lakovima po prvi put, i pošto ih nisam očekivala, a ni znala da li ću se vratiti u radnju, nisam mogla da napravim istraživanje. uzela sam tri laka, i dva od njih odmah zamenila za druge. razlog: shvatila sam da kada otkrijem neki brend, uvek se hvatam za boje koje već imam. lak kog nisam zamenila je predivni sea of cortez (nemam informaciju kojoj kolekciji pripada).

i recently stood in front of a nyx counter for the first time, and since i didn't have the time to do the research because i didn't know if i'll be back in the shop, i took three polishes and immediately returned and exchanged two of them :D. the reason: i finally realized, when i discover a brand, i always go for the same colors i already own. but, one that i didn't exchange is magnificent sea of cortez (i can't find an info about the collection).

u stvari, on me je odmah podsetio na essence-ov choose me, jedan od mojih miljenika prema kome se ophodim kao prema svetom gralu. mazala sam ga samo dvaput, u strahu da ga ne potrošim jer je povučen.

sea of cortez je više nego savršen. baza vuče na žele stranu, plavo-petrolej tona, puna zlatnih flekica i zelenog šimera. komplikovano, zar ne? za duže nokte, preporučujem tri sloja, za slučajeve kao što je moj dovoljna su i dva. formula i četkica su dobri, i pošto je ovo moj prvi suret sa nyx girls lakovima, utisak je odličan!

sviđa mi se način na koji se boja menja u zavisnosti od osvetljenja. plava preovladava na prirodnoj svetlosti, dok zelena vodi na veštačkoj!

the thing is, i was immediately reminded of essence choose me, one of my favourites that i treat like a holy grail. i wore it only twice because i'm scared i'll run out, since it's discontinued.


sea of cortez is beyond amazing. the base is leaning toward jelly side, with the teal-blue color packed with gold flakes and green shimmer. complicated, isn't it? for longer nails, i suggest three coats, otherwise, like in my case, two is enough. formula and brush are good, it's my first contact with nyx girls polishes, and impression is great!

i love the way the color changes with lighting. it leans toward blue in natural light, while green shimmer leads the way in artificial!

42. theme friday: teal

za prethodni petak, tema je bila petrolej boja. učestvovala sam sa opi ski teal we drop, kao i većina devojaka :D

pošto je sutra međunarodni dan žena, kao temu imamo ženstvenu boju po izboru!

for the last friday, the theme was teal color and i participated with opi ski teal we drop, as the majority of the girls.

since tomorrow is the international women day, the theme is a feminine color of our choice.

ski teal we drop je originalno bio deo švajcarske kolekcije, ali je, prilično opravdano, postao član stalne postavke.

ski teal we drop was originally a part of swiss collection, but it got (rightfully) upgraded to the permanent collection. opi's description: "there are mountains of color in this grey-green-blue".

jednom prilikom sam spomenula da je polovina moje garderobe zelena ili maslinasta. skoro cela druga polovina je petrolej :D "ski" pripada tamnijoj strani petrolej spektra, i ovo je toliko bogata, odlično pigmentovana krema dobre formule da mislim da mi nikad neće dosaditi i da će se uvek nalaziti na mojim top listama lakova.

i once mentioned that half of my wardrobe is green or olive green. well, another half is almost all in teal :D the shade of teal in "ski" is on the darker side of the teal hues, it is such a rich, nicelly pigmented creme that i can't get bored with. i think it will always be in my top polishes lists.
