zoya saint (enchanted)

i'm back from my first holiday this season, and i'm starting with the stunning zoya saint from their holiday collection called enchanted.

saint was a love at first promo picture for me. it is such a complex and unusual polish. the base color is a rather sheer periwinkle, with iridescent magenta/pink shimmer. it changes a lot in different types of light. 

the first coat was sheer, but it had a decent coverage after the second one with no need for a third. it is so unusual and somehow soft.

zoya blaze (ornate)

ornate was such an awesome zoya collection, with some iconic shades (aurora, storm and logan are on my list), and blaze is one of those gems.

the first thing that comes to mind to me when i wear blaze is "delicious". it looks like some kid of berry marmelade and i always crave red fruit when i have it on my nails.

zoya poetically described it as "cool-toned medium mulberry red with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter". these holo particles are not as dense as in some other polishes from this collecton, and they give out pinkish and purplish glitz. 

coverage and formula are great, and it's an awesome polish overall.

zoya storm (ornate)

storm je jedan od lakova iz zoyine fantastične kolekcije ornate za zimu 2012.

storm is one of the polishes from zoya's awesome collection ornate for winter 2012.

storm je vrlo jednostavan lak u suštimi, ali to ne umanjuje njegovu izuzetnost. ovo je jedan od lakova koje svako treba da ima u kolekciji: crna baza ispunjena gustim holo česticama.

lak je zaista prelep sa odličnom formulom, kao duboko zvezdano nebo.

storm is a really straightforward polish, but nevertheless, a stunner. one of those that are a must have in every collection: a black base filled with dense holo particles.

it is beautiful and with a great formula, just like a deep starry night.

zoya mimi (sparkle)

sparkle je jedna od (meni) najboljih zoya kolekcija, koja se pojavila leta 2010 i mimi je jedna od njenih zvezda.

sparkle is a really awesome zoya's collection back in the summer of 2010, and mimi is one of it's stars.

mimi je opisana kao kraljevska ljubičasta sa metalik završnicom, ali je to samo pojednostavljeni način da se opiše ovaj divni lak.

ne samo da je nijansa ljubičaste duboka i bogata, nego joj i šimer daje dodatni sjaj. formula je isto dobra, bez vidljivih tragova čekice.

prirodna svetlost:

mimi is described as a royal purple metallic polish, but this is just an oversimplified way to explain this awesome polish.

not only that the purple shade is so rich and deep, the shimmer in it gives it a lot of depth. the formula is also good, no brushstrokes whatsoever.

zoya tosca (classics)

tosca je jedan od starih zoya lakova. teško je naći iz koje je kolekcije potekla, ali je sada deo njihove klasične kolekcije.

tosca is one of the zoya oldies, it hard to pin it's original collection, but now it is a part of their classics.

uvek zaboravim na ovaj lak tokom turobnih dana, ali ga se naprasno setim čim krene sunce.

rekla bih da je najbolji opis boje jagoda crvena sa malo koralne u sebi. u bočici šimer izgleda dosta gust, ali na noktima je suptilan. formula je takođe solidna, tako da je ovaj lak odličan prolećno/letnji izbor.

i always forget about this polish during the gloomy days, but remember it the second the sun starts.

i believe that the strawberry red with the touch of coral is the best colour description. shimmer looks really dense in the bottle, but it is subtle on the nails. the formula is also nice, a real spring/summer treat.

zoya envy (truth and dare)

zoya envy je iz njihove stare kolekcije truth and dare za jesen 2009.

zoya envy is from there really old collection truth and dare for autumn 2009.

u uvek iskrenim opisima ljudi iz zoye, u pitanju je "duboka zacrnjena zelena sa blagim žutim podtonom i jedva primetnim šimerom". po meni, taj šimer je toliko jedva primetan da sam ga ja prvi put primetila u ovom opisu :)

ovo je stvarno krema sa finom formulom. ako ima bar malo svetlosti, jasno je da nije skroz crn, ali ima potencijal da izgleda više crno nego zeleno. definitivno najtamnija zelena koju imam.

prirodna svetlost:

in ever truthful words of zoya people, it is a "deep blackened green with subtle yellow undertones and barely-perceptible shimmer." in my opinion, that shimmer is so barely perceptible that i honestly first saw it in this description :).

is a really nicely formulated creme. under at least a bit of light, it can barely be mistaken for a black polish, but it has a tendency to appear more black than green. certainly the darkest green i own.

zoya jem (mirrors 2011)

prošlo je već previše vremena od kad sam prikazala neki zoya lak, pa sam se odlučila za prelepu jem iz mirrors kolekcije za 2011.

it's been a while since i showed one of the zoya beauties, so i decided to go with the gorgeous jem from the mirrors collection for 2011.

kao što sam više puta napisala, ljudi u zoyi savršeno opisuju njihove nijanse: "tamna ljubičasta baza s crvenim podtonom i metali tamno roze i zlatnim duohrom šimerom".

sve u svemu, prelep, pomalo vamp i pomalo misteriozan, savršen za sunčane jesenje dane, pošto je malo pretežak za leto ali mu treba sunce da prikaže svu svoju lepotu.

as i wrote a lot of times, zoya guys really describe their shades perfectly: "dark red-toned purple base with metallic dark pink highlights and subtle gold duochrome flecks".

bottom line, gorgeous. a bit vampy, a bit mysterious. perfect for sunny autumn days, because it is just a bit too heavy for summer, but needs sun to show it's full beauty.

zoya zuza (surf)

uz svu pixie dust pomamu, mislim da je vreme da prikažem zoya lak iz neke druge kolekcije. ovaj put je izbor pao na lak zuza iz njihove surf kolekcije za leto 2012.

after all the pixie dust craze, it's about time to show one of the zoyas from different collections. this time i'm presenting zuza from their surf collection for summer 2012.

u zoya-i imaju stvarno dobro oko kad opisuju svoje lakove, pa ću da to sikoristim. zuza je "duboka, bogata morsko tirkizna boja sa zlatnim i srebrnim metalik šimerom i folijastom završnicom. odlična nijansa za plažu sa savršenim balansom između plave i zelene".

na mojim slikama ispada za nijansu plavlje nego uživo. definitivno nemam ništa slično, stvarno je interesantan lak sa fantastičnom formulom.

well, guys at zoya are doing a great job about describing their polishes, so i'm just going to quote them. zuza is a "deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish. a beachy, colorful, foil-like shade with the perfect balance between blue and green".

in my pictures, it is a tad more blue that in real life. it is like nothing i own, it is really interesting polish with a fantastic formula.

zoya chyna (pixie dust)

posle beatrix, liberty i vespa, vreme je za još jedan prelepi zoya pixie dust lak. u pitanju je chyna iz kolekcije za zimu 2013.

after beatrix, liberty and vespa, it's time for another gorgeous zoya's pixie dust shade, this time it's chyna from the winter 2013 collection.

skoro da sam preskočila ovaj lak i uzela sam ga tek u drugoj turi. mislila sam da, pošto je crven, nema šanse da će me oduševiti i grdno sam se prevarila!

lak je zaista prelep. bazna boja je bogata, tamno crvena koja se suši u teksturnu završnicu, sa svetlocrvenim šljokicama i sjajem koji prosto iskače iz baze. može da prođe kao jednoslojac, ali sam po navici namazala dva. formula i aplikacija su odlični, i suši se prilično brzo.

i almost skipped this one and got it in the second round. i thought, well, it's red, it's not like i'm going to be amazed by it. oh, how was i wrong!

this polish is super stunning. base colour is rich, dark red that dries into the textured finish, with light red glitter and sparkle that just pops out of it. it can be pulled off as a one coater, but i did two out of habit. formula and application are great, and drying time really fast!

zoya midori (ooh la la)

toliko sam srećna što danas predstavljam prelepu midori, iz zoya-ine ooh la la kolekcije za leto 2009.

i am so happy that today i can show you the gorgeous zoya midori, from their ooh la la collection for summer 2009.

uz ovaj lak sam saznala da midori znači zeleno na japanskom, a svi znamo da od svih mojoh lakova, najviše volim zelembaće!

midori je na zoya sajtu opisana kao "nijansa srednje zelene jabuke, sa žutim podtonom i jakim zlatnim šimerom, savršena za izlazak s drugaricama", i, kao i obično,  prilično dobro su je opisali.

rekla bih da je ova živahna jabučica baš ukusna, još u kombinaciji sa zlatnim šimerom koji je čini gotovo iridescentnom. definitivno je jedinstvena nijansa u mojoj inače ogromnoj kolekciji :D iako je završnica i metalik, potezi četkicom se ne vide i formula je sasvim u redu.

i discovered that midori means green in japanese, and we all know that i love my green polishes more than any other colours!

midori is described at zoya's website as "glowing medium apple green with yellow undertones and strong gold shimmer. a cocktail-green for a night out with the girls." and once again, they described it perfectly.

i find this vibrant apple green to be so delicious, and almost iridescent with the combination with the gold shimmer. it is definitely a unique polish in my otherwise vast collection :D even though it's metallic, there's no visible brush strokes and formula is good.

zoya hazel (irresistible)

i just realized that this will be my last swatch of the year, and i like to think is great to finish it with a gorgeous polish such as zoya's hazel!

hazel is is beauty from zoya's spring collection irresistible. it has everything i like: the base colour that is definitely unique, an icy, steely blue with goldish flakes that i would never think would go well with the base, but they fit perfectly.

the finish is both foil and metallic, but there's no problem with application or brushstrokes. i am really impressed with this polish, it looks a bit space-y.

zoya beatrix (pixie dust summer)

beatrix is from the summer edition of zoya's pixie dust polishes. as usual, their description couldn't be more accurate: "tangerine metal sparkle in the exclusive zoya pixie dust textured, matte, foil twinkle formula".

i love everything about this polish, especially how the gold shimmer sparkles in this amazing vibrant orange base. i wore it three times this summer, the last time i took it to a 5 day festival, wore it the whole time, including the tent setting and all the unglamorous but fun stuff camping can give. all of that, without chipping! one of my dearest friends also loved it, so we were sporting matching manicures :)

formula and applications are typically without issues, drying time is about 20 minutes.

zoya - liberty (pixie dust)

vreme je za još jedan zoya pixie dust lak, ovaj put je to predivna liberty iz letnje kolekcije.!

it's time for another zoya pixie dust polish, this time, gorgeous liberty from the summer collection.

malo je falilo da propustim ovaj lak. mislila sam da mi je opi get your number dovoljan plavi teksturac, ali sam videla liberty na noktima jedne lakoholičarke (hvala, t.), i pošto je bila subota i nisam imala vremena da se vratim u ultrasun, a ona i a. su ionako išle tamo, zadužila sam ih da mi je ipak uzmu i konačno je dobila prošle nedelje.

zoya je opisuje kao plavi šećerni sjajni lak, što i jeste! nijansa je predivna srednje plava, sa srebrnkastim šimerom i predivnom teksturnom završnicom.  bilo bi mi žao da sam je propustila, jer stvarno izgleda fantastično, kao prava vilinska prašina. nisam bila kući kad sam ga slikala, tako da ovaj put nema slika s nadlakom ali ću ih dodati kad ga budem sledeći put nosila.

i almost missed this one. i thought that opi's get your number is enough for me in the blue texture range, but i saw it on the nails of a fellow nail polish addict (tnx, t.) and since it was saturday and i had no time to return to ultrasun, i gave her and a. money to buy it for me, and it finally came to my hands last week.

zoya describes it as a blue sugary sparkle, which it really is! the shade is medium blue, just perfect, with silvery shimmer and the gorgeous textured finish. i would be really sorry if i missed it, because it really looks amazing. true pixie dust, if you ask me! i wasn't at home when i took the photos, so no pics with a top coat this time, but i'll add them next time i wear it.

zoya vespa (pixie dust)

imala sam sreću da sam došla u beograd baš kad su pixie dust i ornate kolekcije stigle u ultrasun, ali sam imala samo par sati fore u subotu da ih uzmem, iako sam u bg-u na drugoj strani ulice od us! tako da, probudila sam se u 8 ujutro (iako se vikendom retko kad dižem pre 11), obukla na brzinu i rekla md-u "ok, vraćam se za par minuta, moram da  uzmem neke lakove" dok je on mrmljao da se normalne devojke bude rano da odu po hleb i mleko :D

krajnji rezultat ste videli ovde. imala sam wl mesecima, par sam znala da sigurno uzimam, dok su neki bili na možda. vespa je bila jedna od tih drugih, ali čim sam je videla, znala sam da je uzimam!

i was lucky enough that i came home just as pixie dust and ornate collections arrived to ultrasun in belgrade, but had only a couple of hours to get them, even though the shop is on the other side of the street! so, i woke up at 8 am (on weekends, i rarely get out of bed before 11), got dressed quickly and told my bf "ok, i'll be back in a minute, i have to go get some polishes"  while he murmured that normal girls get up that early for bread and milk :D

the end result was shown in this post. i had a wl for months, with a few of them being sure deal and a few "maybe". vespa was on a maybe, but as soon as i saw the bottle, i knew i will have to buy her!

od svih tipova teksturnih lakova, zoyina pisxie dust mi je omiljena! vespa je prvi koji sam probala, a oni je opisuju kao mint šećerka. nijansa je pastelna svetla zelena, poput žalfije, sa finim srebrnim šećerastim šljokicama. finiš je tako poseban a boja nekako vintage, sve u svemu, ljubav!

vespa je malo ređa, pa sam nakon normalnog prvog sloja stavila deblji drugi. na jednom noktu desne ruke sam dodala i treći, ali pošto nije bilo značajne razlike, odustala sam. iako u zoyi ne preporučuju korišćenje baze uz ove lakove, ja ipak imam moj dragi opi start to finish.

from all types of textured polishes, zoya's pixie dust is my favorite. vespa is the first one i tried, and they describe it as "mint kiss with a sugared sparkle". the shade is pastel, light sage green, with fine silver sugary glitter. the finish is so refined and the color looks vintage and, bottom line, i'm in love!

it is a bit shear, so after a normal first layer, i added a thicker second. i tried a third one on one nail on my right hand, but it looked pretty much the same so i decided to finish with two. even though they recommend skipping the base coat, i have my dear opi start to finish.

ruffian: silver & black holo

prošlo je dosta od kad sam poslednji put imala ruffian, i već dugo imam ovakvu srebrno-crnu kombinaciju u glavi. kada sam videla sličnu kombinaciju na fashion polish blogu, rešila sam da je rekreiram uz zoya trixie i deborah shine tech 18.

it's been a while since i've done a ruffian mani, and i had this silver&black combo in mind for some time, but when i saw something similar on fashion polish blog, i decided to do it in her way, with zoya trixie  and deborah shine tech 18.

zoya ivanka (sparkle)

dok sam pregledala slike koje sam prošle nedelje napravila kad sam imala na noktima ivanku od zoye, balavila sam nad njima i žao mi je što ga nisam ponela sa sobom u posetu kući! ova lepota je deo zoyine sparkle kolekcije za proleće 2010.

ok, i was going over my zoya - ivanka pictures, and i was drooling over them and regreted that i haven't brought it for my visit home, since i have urge to wear it again. this beauty is a part of zoya's amazing sparkle collection from spring 2010.

ovaj lak je već dugo moja želja, ali sam se ubeđivala da mi ne treba više zelenih lakova. ipak, pre par nedelja sam popustila, i ova kupovina je bila vredna toga! boja je prilično teška za opisivanje: bazna nijansa je svetlosmaragdna, sa zlatnim i svetlozelenim staklastim šimerom i dodatnim sitnim zelenim šimerom. ima i duohrom efekat, za koji se nadam da sam ga dočarala na slikama; može izgledati više žuto ili zeleno u zavisnosti od ugla i svetlosti.

već sam spominjala da volim sve što dolazi od zoye, pa ni ovaj lak nije izuzetak. formula je odlična, kao i nanošenje.

i wanted this one for a long time, but kept convincing myself that i don't need anymore greens. but, a few weeks ago, i succumbed, and it was well worth it! it is a rather complex color to describe - the base is emerald green, with gold and and lighter green flecks and additional green shimmer. it has a duochrome effect, which i hope i managed to capture in some of the pics; it can look more green or yellow depending on the lighting and the angle.


i already mentioned that i love everything by zoya, so this one wasn't an exception. great formula, great application!

zoya roxy (masquerade)

sećam se kad sam uzela roxy, neki zoya lakovi su bili na rasprodaji i nisam mogla da odolim da ga uzmem, iako nikad nisam videla svočeve. odmah sam ga uveče namazala, i bila sam malo razočarana i nisam shvatila celu famu oko tog laka kada je originalno izašao u "masquerade" kolekciji iz 2006. ali, kada sam ga videla sutradan na prirodnom svetlu, zaljubila sam se.

i remember when i got roxy, it was on sale and i couldn't resist getting it even though i never saw the swatches. i painted my nails in the evening, and i was a bit underwhelmed and didn't quite get the hype it got in the blogging community when it initially came out in the ancient "masquerade" collection. but then, i saw in in natural light and fell in love.

jedna od stvari koja mi se sviđa kod zoya lakova je ta što imaju prilično realne slike bočica i opise na njihovom sajtu. ovo piše za roxy: "proizna ljubičasta baza sa crvenim tonom sa gustim svetlo ljubičastim šljokicama."


baza je prilično pigmentovani ljubičasti sorbet sa magenta šljokicama. definitivno su potrebna tri sloja za potpunu pokrivenost, ali je formula prilično dobra. problem je, što sam ja prilično nestrpljiva kad treba da dodam i treći sloj, što se vidi iz moje ne tako savršene aplikacije. u svakom slučaju, nokti mi izgledaju slatko i sirupasto!

one thing i like about zoya polishes, is that thay have pretty accurate promo pictures of the bottles and descriptions on their website. this is what they wrote abot roxy: "a sheer red-toned purple base loaded with bright purple glitter. a must-have shade for any rock star or glamour girl."

the base is actually quite pigmented purple jelly with magenta glitter. it needs three coats for complete opacity, but the formula is quite nice. the problem is, i get impatient when i have to add a third layer, which can bee seen in my imperfect application. nevertheless, i find it looks so yummy and syrupy!

zoya yasmeen (provocateur)

pretpostavljam da je prva stvar koju je svaka devojka uradila kada je otkrila zoya lakove, ta da proba da vidi postoji li lak sa njenim imenom. ja za moje nisam bila previše optimistična, što je i ispalo tačno, ali sam odmah prešla na mamino i našla jednu od varijacija njenog imena i ispostavilo se da je to ova lepota, yasmeen iz provocateur kolekcije..

i guess that the first thing every girl did when she discovered zoya polishes, is to see if there is one of these beauties with her name. of course, i was sure that i will get a negative answer for mine, which was unfortunately the case, but the second one i searched for is my mom's name, and i got one of the name's variations, and it turned out to be this beauty, yasmeen from provocateur collection.

zoya opisuje yasmeen kao "ljubičastu bazu sa tamno plavim tonom i sa vrlo jakim ljubičastim šimerom sa crvenim tonom i naznakama zlatnog duohroma. ultimativna kompleksna ljubičasta za maksimalnu dramu". oni baš vole da koriste dosta reči :D ja bih dodala da ima malo i burgundy podtona.

yasmeen je definitivno jedan od zoyinih lakova koji mora da se poseduje. možda deluje kao jesenje-zimska nijansa, ali je direktno sunce to pod kojim šimer oživi. naravno, što je lak lepši, to je teže uhvatiti njegovu pravu prirodu na slici, i to mi je samo delimično uspelo.

zoya describes yasmeen as "dark blue-toned purple base with very strong red-toned medium purple shimmer and hints of gold duochrome. the ultimate complex purple for maximum drama".

i would add that it also has a hint of burgundy in it.  this polish is definitely one of the zoya's must haves. it may look like an autumny-wintery shade, but the direct sunlight is when the insanely beautiful shimmer comes alive. of course, the prettier the polish, the harder is to get it's essence on the pictures, and i managed to do this only partially.

zoya lotus (true spring)

dugo sam zagledala ovaj lak, i nisam mogla da se odlučim da li da ga uzmem ili ne, a sada sam baš srećna da sam ga ipak kupila!

u zoyi su ga prilično dobro opisali, kao prašnjavu ljubičastu sa plavim podtonom i raznobojnim šimerom (roze, crveno i zlano). boja je stvarno prašnjavo ljubičasta, a iznenadila sam se koliko je šimer vidljiv na noktima, jer sam mislila da je dosta suptilniji. formula je odlična i potpuna pokrivenost se dobija sa dva sloja. mislim da je ovo jedan od onih lakova koji svima dobro stoje.

dugo sam zagledala ovaj lak, i nisam mogla da se odlučim da li da ga uzmem ili ne, a sada sam baš srećna da sam ga ipak kupila!

zoya describes it as: "a very soft, dusty blue-toned amethyst purple with colorful shimmer that reflects pink, red and gold. a dreamy smoky shade for purple lovers that looks both soft and luminous"  and they are dead on with the description. the color really is a dusty, muted purple packed with pinkish shimmer. formula is amazing and it is fully opaque after two coats. the shimmer is quite visible on the nails, which surprised me, because i expected it o be more subtle. i think that this is one of those shades that look good on every skintone.

holly je iz zoya kolecije gems and jewels iz 2011, i to je definitivno moj omiljeni zeleni lak. cela kolekcija je fantastična.

holly is from the zoya's 2011 holiday gems and jewels collection, and it is my favorite green polish, hands down! isn't this picture yummy?

zoya opisuje holly kao "zelenu sa suptilnim žutim tonovima i svetlim metalnim finišem". moram da priznam da ne vidim te suptilne žute tonove :)

 formula je odlična, potpuna pokrivenost se dobija skoro iz prvog sloja ali je drugi potreban da se sve  malo ujednači. boja je moja omiljena smaragdno zelena, i obožavam da imam ovaj lak na noktima!

zoya describes holly as " rich holly green with subtle yellow tones in a luminous metallic finish. great for giving the nails a flash of rich gem-toned color." i must admit, i don't see the subtle yellow tone.

the formula is dreamy, it is almost opaque after the first coat but the second one is needed the even the surface out. the color is my favorite emerald green, and it really makes your nails stand out.
