nail art: stars and opals

počela sam stvarno da uživam u ovim nail art stvarima, zabavno je opuštajuće. tako da, ovo je rezultat mog "pimpovanja" opi reflection.

i started to really enjoy doing nail arty stuff, it's fun and relaxing. so, this here is the outcome of my "pimping out" opi reflection.

uz njega, koristila sam ovu specijalnu traku i essie go overboard, i na to dodala plave zvezdice koje sam dobila od kkcenterhk, zajedno sa ovim zelenim i plavim opalescentnim okruglim šljokicama.

šljokice iz kkkcenterhk sam dodala na sveže namazani essie, tako da mi nije trebao lepak, i koristila sam najtanji deo tačkalice, umočene u trunčicu baze da ih uhvatim i prenesem na nokat. na kraju sam sve premazala slojem nadlaka, što je bilo dovoljno da zadrži sve za jedan dan, kad je bilo vreme za novi lak :D


na kraju, sviđa mi se završni rezultat!

i also used this striping tape topped with essie go overboard, and spiced things up with these blue stars i got from kkkcenterhk, together with blue and green opalescent  circle glitters.

i just added the glitter from kkkcenterhk on the freshly applied essie, so there was no glue needed, and i used the tiniest end of the dotter dippes in just a tiny drop of base coat to hold and transfer it. in the end, i sealed everything with one layer of top coat, and it was sufficient enough to hold everything in place for one day, when it was time for another polish :D

in the end, i like how it turned out!

kada sam u petak došla s posla, rešila sam da se malo igram. pratila sam instrukcije, koje savetuju da namažete tanak sloj lepka za folije (postoji opcija za naručivanje sa i bez lepka) na već namazani lak, sačekate da on postane providan i na to pažljivo nanesete foliju koju ste prethodno isekli u trake malo duže i šire od vašeg nokta, i da je lagano ispravite štapićem za uši i na kraju dodate nadlak.

da bi se nanošenje usavršilo, potrebno je malo prakse. u svom prvom pokušaju uspela sam da napravim samo par pristojnih noktiju, tako da, kada sam opet juče uzela da se igram, odlučila sam se za drugačiji metod.

when i came from work on friday, i decided to play a little with it. the instructions say to have some kind of nail polish, cut the foil into strips slightly larger than your nail, apply a thin coat of foil glue (they have options to order with and without the glue), wait for it to became transparent and then press the foil against the nail, try to control and smooth it with a cotton stick and add a top coat.

to perfect the application, you will need a little bit of practice, so at this first attempt, i only managed to get a couple of decent nails. so, i opted for another approach when i redid the manicure yesterday.

ovo je trebalo da bude samo proba moje široke nail art četkice, ali mi se svidelo, tako da kačim slike.

this was supposed to be just me trying out my new fan brush, but i actually liked it, so i here it is.

već sam imala ski teal we drop, i koristila sam prve lakove koji su mi pali na pamet: catrice acid dc, essence break through i life is a freeride. igrala sam se, i iz nekog razloga me podsetilo na boje koje je van gog koristio, odatle i naslov! malo je neuredno, ali ovo je bio samo prvi pokušaj, a imam druge ideje za ubuduće.

i had ski teal we drop, and i took the first polishes that came to mind: catrice acid dc, essence break through and life is a freeride. i played with the fan brush, and for some reason it reminds me of the type of colors van gogh used, hence the title. it is a bit messy, but it was just a first try, i have other ideas for the future.

današnji tematski petak je posvećen francuskom manikiru i bila sam ubeđena da ću ga preskočiti. nisam obožavateljka frenča, nikada ga nisam nosila niti bi išao na moje uvek kratke nokte. ipak, devojke su počele da spominju netradicionalne ideje, pa sam rešila da se ipak pridružim.
prvobitno sam imala drugu ideju, ali me je malo stislo grlo i sam miris skidača laka me iritira, pa sam rešila samo da nadogradim essence chic reloaded koji sam već imala na noktima, sa china glaze awaken. da, malo sam promenila proceduru, umesto da dodam boju na krajeve noktiju, ja sam dodala gornji sloj, nešto u stilu obrnutog ruffian-a :D

it is a french manicure themed friday, and i almost missed it. i'm not a fan of the classic french, i never wore it and it would be a no go on my always short nails. but then the girls mentioned the non-classical french ideas, and i decided to give it a try.

i had something else in mind, but i have a sore throat and just a bit of nail polish remover's smell bothers me, so i decided to upgrade essence chic reloaded that i already had on, with china glaze awaken. yup, i did it in reverse order, i didn't paint the tips but the top of the nail, some kind of backward ruffian :D

stamping: snowy herring

ovu ideju sam imala već duže vreme, i kako je pečatiranje tema ovog petka na roze forumu, i kako smo ušli u drugu snežnu nedelju, konačno sam se naterala da je realizujem. podloga je bila  opi i have a herring problem.

i had the idea for this stamping combo in my head for a while, and a theme friday and lots, lots of snow convinced me it was about time to do it. the base color was opi i have a herring problem.

pločicu sam uzela u kiwi sun-u, što znači da može da se nađe kod svih alexandrovih distributera, i na svakom noktu imam drugu pahulju. šteta što sam zaboravila da slikam i palac :(

the stamping plate i used is this no name one,  and i have a different snow flake on every nail. too bad i forgot to take a picture of the thumb :(

moram priznati da sam baš zadovoljna kako je ispalo. jedina "greška" je ta da sam naizmenično koristila beli i srebrni lak, pa nisam mogla da napravim slikicu gde će svi nokti odjednom biti jasni, a to se ne bi desilo sa jednom bojom. uživo problema nema, sve je izgledalo super. definitivno ću morati da počnem da se više igram s pečatima.

i am very happy with the end result. the only "mistake" was using silver and white polish for stamping, it would photograph better if it was only one color; i coulnd't make pics where every nail is clear, but everything looked good in real life. i definitely have to start playing with stamping more!

21. theme friday: galaxy nails

ne znam šta vi mislite, ali meni je ovaj 21. tematski petak najlepši do sad. toliko divnih noktića! moj pokušaj je izgledao ovako.

od sutra pa do sledećeg četvrtka, tematska boja je teget!

i don't know about you, but for me, the last theme friday, galaxy nails, is the most successful one. so many beautiful manicures in one place, it's insane! you can see my attempt here.

from tomorrow until next thursday, the theme color is navy blue!

galaxy nails

verovatno sam ovo već spominjala, ali nisam baš neka obožavateljka nail arta. jedan od razloga je sigurno i taj da nemam ni mrvu talenta, ali i to da u poslednje vreme jedva izdržavam da imam isti lak dva dana na noktima (a vrlo često menjam odmah sutradan), tako da mi se baš ne isplati da trošim vreme na šaranje kad ću već da ga skinem tako brzo. to me, naravno, ne sprečava da se divim drugim blogerkama, a ideje od nekih su me dosta puta ostavile u oduševljenju njihovim talentom i strpljenjem.

ali, galaxy mi se svideo od prvog puta kad sam ga ugledala na slikama. sva sreća da se nekako dokopao liste za tematski petak, pa sam rešila da ga konačno isprobam i ja, umesto da balavim nad tuđim slikama. na kraju se ispostavilo da procedura uopšte nije komplikovana, sve je bilo gotovo u 10ak minuta, pa kad je meni uspelo, nema razloga da iko ne uspe!
postoji dosta i boljih i opširnijih tutorijala na netu, pa ću spomenuti samo ključne delove!

isekla sam par dugačkih kvadara iz sunđera za šminku. tačnu svrhu mu ne znam, kupila sam ga kad sam rešila da prvi put (potpuno neslavno) probam gradijent. na većini mesta sam čitala da devojke pokupe sunđer pincetom pa namackaju u lak pa na nokat, ali meni je bilo lakše da to radim rukom.

i probably mentioned this before, but i am not a big fan of nail art. one of the reasons is that i have no talent :D but even if i did, i must admit that i have the urge to change my nail polish after a day or two, and it would be a waste of time to spend hours perfecting my manicure, only to remove it the next day. of course, i enjoy looking at other bloggers' nail art photos, and i look them with admiration and sometimes i am really stunned at the amount of imagination and patience that these girl have.

but, i was amazed with the galaxy nails manicure. i didn't find one photo of it that i didn't like. luckily, it got on our friday nail challenge day, so i decided that it is a perfect time for me to actually try it, instead of drooling over other people's pics :D and it turned out to be super simple, i was done in maybe ten minutes, so, if i can do it, everyone else can!
there are many tutorials out there, but i will mention just the most important steps!

i cut a few strips of a make up sponge (since i am complete idiot concerning make up, i have no idea what was it's initial use, i bought it strictly for gradients and stuff). girls usually write that they used tweezers for picking up the sponge and dabbing it onto the nail, but i found it easier to use my fingers.

namazala sam jedan sloj essence peel off base, pa dva sloja deborah shine tech 18. stavila sam kap-dve maybelline french whitena novine, utapkala sunđer u to pa natapkala dijagonalno na nokat.

ovo su lakovi koje sam koristila:

deborah shine tech 18 - maybelline french white - essence trust in fashion - essence grumpy - catrice birdy reloaded - china glaze stella - maybelline tutti frutti

i applied one coat of essence peel off base, followed with two coats of deborah shine tech 18, then i put a drop or two of maybelline french white on newspaper, dabbed the sponge in it and then dabbed it on the nail diagonally.

i applied the polishes in this order with the sponging technique:

deborah shine tech 18 - maybelline french white - essence trust in fashion - essence grumpy - catrice birdy reloaded - china glaze stella - maybelline tutti frutti

da bih dobila zvezdani izgled, premazala sam sve sa maybelline tutti frutti i na kraju sa BTGNTS.

zadovoljna sam kako mi je ispalo, ali već imam ideje kako da ga popravim za sledeći put! da, verovali ili ne, planiram da ovo ponovim. takođe, jedva čekam da krenu da naviru slike sa tematskog petka, jer verujem da će mi devojke dati još inspiracije za sledeći pokušaj!

for the sparkly look, after it dried a bit, i applied one coat of maybelline tutti frutti, followed by BTGNTS.

i am quite happy with the way this manicure looks, and i already have some ideas for improving it the next time. yes, you read correctly, i do plan to do it again. also, i'm pretty sure that the girls will give me inspiration when i take a look at other manicures for this week's challenge.
