dior exquis (holiday 2011)

i was absent due to very unfortunate personal reasons, but the situation is improving and i am trying to go back to my routines. my polish of choice for this occasion is one of my first high end polishes, gorgeous exquis from dior's holiday 2011 collection. other polishes here were or divin, mervielle and apparat (that i wish i owned)

exquis is a very rich and complex shade. it is somewhere between olive green and brown, with a lot of gold shimmer running around. it's one of those edgy but classy polishes.

formula is great, but unfortunately, i got a weirdly cut brush. still workable, though, just making life more difficult.

opi honey ryder (bond girls)

i am still on board of the textured polishes bandwagon, and i really love opi's honey ryder from their bond girls collection.

honey ryder, named after the epitomic bond girl played by ursula andress, is a champagne gold shade. it has gold glitter in it, dries superfast and is a definite one coater. i would call it a festive shade, but i love to wear it when i'm in a (typical) all black outfit.

danas pokazujem poslednji catrice lak koji mi je ostao neobjavljen iz kolekcije, stari lepotan po imenu in the bronx.

today i am showing the last catrice polish that was left unpublished from my stash, an oldie called in the bronx.

napisala sam gomilu sastava o tome kako ne podnosim novu catrice četkicu, zbog koje sam počela da izbegavam taj bren. bili su moj omiljeni dragstor brend i sa njima je nekako i počelo moje lakoholičarsko ludilo, tako da mi je pomalo žao da više nemam ni jedan catrice lak.

da se vratimo na današnju zvezdu, in the bronx je jedan od starih lepotana. u pitanju je prelepa zagorelo-zlatna/skoro bronzana melatik nijansa u kojoj sam zaista uživala.

oblačan dan:

i wrote so many essays about how i hate the new catrice brush, which kind of made me avoid the brand altogether. they were my favourite drugstore brand and marked the beginnings of my nail polish insanity so i am kind of sad that there are no more catrices left in my stash.

to go back to this polish, in the bronx is one of the oldie-goodies, an awesome burnt gold-almost bronze metallic shade that i really enjoyed.

barry m moon dust (magnetic effects)

i am changing up a bit, and showing moon dust, from barry m magnetic effect collection back in 2012.

my only magnetic polish experience was dior mystic magnetic. moon dust was a goodbye present from an acquaintance that was leaving the county, and it seemed only logical for me to get a couple of her polishes.

i really like moon dust. it a shade between dark gold and copper, with goldish particles. the pattern is stripy, revealing beigey-silvery stripes. the magnet is incorporated in the lid and very easy to work with. two coats were more than enough for good coverage.

pošto ulazimo u prazničnu sezonu, china glaze holiday joy kolekcija mi odmah pada na pamet, i ovaj put biram lak angel wings.

as we are entering the holiday season, a polish from china glaze holiday joy collection seems to be a good choice, and i picked angel wings.

angel wings je definitivno zlatna verzija glistening snow.

ovaj lak je čisto zlato: zlatne šljokice, zlatne holo čestice, sve smućkano u providnu bazu. suši se vrlo brzu u hrapavi, teksturisani finiš. obično ne dodajem nadlak ovakvim lakovima jer ih obično "pojedu" a na kraju shvatim da mi se više sviđaju bez.

formula je dobra, vreme sušenja odlično i za mene je ovo odličan praznični lak.

angel wings is basically a gold version of glistening snow.

basically, this polish is gold all over: gold glitter, gold holo particles, all jumbled in a clear base. it dries really quickly in a gritty, textured finish. i don't add top coat to these types of polishes, they are usually a tc eaters and in the end i end up preferring them in their intended way.

formula is good,  drying time is great and i find it to be a perfect holiday polish!

danas predstavljam love.angel.music.baby (lamb) is opi gwen stefani kolekcije za praznike 2014.

today i am showing love.angel.music.baby (lamb) from opi's gwen stefani collection for holidays 2014.

moram da priznam da mi je ovaj lak neočekivani favorit. odlagala sam isprobavanje, ali kad sam ga konačno namazala, oduševila sam se.

nijansa je bleda, zagasita zlatna, sa satenskim izgledom. šimer je prelep i uopte nije kičast ili previše napadan.

formula je isto odlična, samoizjednačujuća i pošto je predviđen da se nosi bez nadlaka, suši se brzo.

i have to admit, lamb totally surprised me. i was postponing trying it, but when i did, i was completely blown away.

the shade is a pale, muted gold, with a satin finish. it is shimmering gorgeously, and it is not at all kitschy or over the top.

formula is also awesome, self leveling and, since it is supposed to be worn without a top coat, it is drying quickly,

today i am showing another a england polish, beauty never fails from the heavenly quotes collection.

nošenje a england lakova za mene je nekako kao specijalna prilika, i sa ovim je bilo isto. uvek sam fan zacrnjene bazne boje (ove, tamno, tamno zelena) ispunjene sitnim bronzano/zlatnim ljuspicama.

formula je, kao i uvek, neverovatna, jedna stvar na koju ovek možete da računate sa a england brendom.

prirodna svetlost:

having an a england polish on always feel like a special treat, and this one is no different. i am always a fan of a blackened base colour (here, it's dark, dark green) filled with fine bronze/gold glass flecks.

formula is as impeccable as always, one thing you can count on with a england brand.

essence gold old buffy (vampire love)

danas predstavljam jedan praistorijski lak. u pitanju je gold old buffy iz essence vampire love kolekcije iz davne 2011.

this is definitely a blast from the past, because i am showing gold old buffy from essence's limited edition vampire love way back in 2011.

zaista mi nije jasno kako je moguće da nosim jedan lak više puta i na kraju ga predstavim nekoliko godina kasnije. ipak, bolje ikad nego nikad.

volim ovakve lakove: tamna, ali ne potpuno crna baza vrlo gusto ispunjena zlatnim ljuspicama.

gold old buffy je stvarno sladak lak, ali kako sada imam više sličnih, ovaj ima najlošiju formulu od svih. generalno nije loša, samo je malo tečniji i samim tim lošije pokrivenosti.

i seriously don't know how is it possible for me to wear a polish quite a few times and present it so many years later. well, better late than never.

i like polishes like this: dark but not completely black base densely packed with gold glass flecks.

gold old buffy is a really cute polish, and since i now own more than one that is similar, it is the one with the worst formula. it is not bad, though, just a bit to runny and not with the best coverage.

danas ponovo pokazujem lak koji sam slikala baš baš davno, ali nekako je uvek drugi lak imao prednost da zasija na blogu. konačno je dan za princess sabra, iz fenomenalne a england the legend kolekcije.

today, i am again going with a polish that i swatched ages ago but never got around to posting about it. the polish in question is princess sabra, from a england's fantastic the legend collection.

ovaj lak definitivno nema duplikat u mojoj džinovskoj kolekciji. u pitanju je neobična nijansa, negde između maslinasto zelene i zlatne, sa ne preterano jakim holo efektom.

svakako je jedinstvena nijansa koja verovatno nije po svačijem ukusu ali se meni sviđa. istovremeno je i neobičan i nežan, ne previše zlatan i intenzivan. uz, naravno, prepoznatljivu a england savršenu formulu.

for this polish, i can definitely say i have nothing like it in my gigantic collection. it is a strange shade, somewhere between olive green and gold, with not to crazy holo effect.

it is definitely a unique shade that i guess doesn't appeal to everyone, but i really like it. it is strange and delicate at the same time, not to gold and flashy. and, of course with the signature a england amazing formula.

chanel peridot (illusions d'ombres fall 2011)

konačno je došao trenutak da pokažem predivni chanel peridot, iz jesenje kolekcije za 2011, illusions d'ombres.

i think it's about time to show the gorgeous chanel peridot, from the 2011 fall collection illusions d'ombres.

imam pričicu vezanu za peridot, priznajem da sam se kasno upoznala sa high end lakovima, ali je peridot bio prvi lak ove vrste za koji sam čula. pročitala sam članak u blicu, koji je predstavljao ovu novu kolekciju sa naglaskom kako je u većini zemalja već lista čekanja za peridot. meni je to bio šok, pa me je zanimalo kako lak zaista izgleda, i još se više iznenadila kad sam zaključila da je toliko lep da je vredan čekanja!

svakako je ovo jedna od nijansa sa kojima se osećam najprirodnije, iako mogu da razumem da je za neke ovakav lak previše. takođe razumem da prva asocijacija na njega obično nije istoimeni kamen, već muva zunzara. ipak, ova duohrom zeleno zlatna kombinacija (zelena je dominantnija u senci, dok je zlatna primarna na više svetlosti), uz moju ljubav prema metalik lakovima, mi je logična da bude jedna od nijansi koje su mnoge kompanije probale da imitiraju. iako posedujem catrice verziju, genius in the bottle, peridot mi je miljnik iz razloga koje ću detaljnije objasniti kad napravim post poređenja.

pošto je metalik, ima vidljivih poteza četkicom, ali je formula ipak neverovatno dobra.

when it comes to peridot, i have a story. i admit i am a latecomer when it comes to high end polishes, but peridot was the first polish of this kind that i heard of. there was an article in one serbian newspaper, that was about this collection and mentioned that in many countries, there's a waiting list for peridot. this honestly shocked me, so i was interested to see how this polish looked like, and was surprised that i immediately fell in love with it!

and it sure is one of the shades i feel most comfortable with, although i can understand that it can be too much for some people. i also understand that the first association to it is not the stone of the same name, but the common fly. nevertheless, this combination of greenish gold duochrome (green more dominant in the shade, while gold wins in direct light), with my love for metallic finishes, makes it obvious to me why so many companies tried to make the dupe for it. i own catrice's version, genius in the bottle, and although i love it, i prefer peridot for the reasons i'll explain more thoroughly once i make a comparison post.

it is metallic, therefore brushstrokey, but the formula is impeccable.

posle male pauze, nastavljam sa nijansama iz picture polish limited edition kolekcije, i zvezda dana je solar flare, i posle ovog ostaje još gravity.

after a little break, i'm continuing with the picture polish limited edition shades, and today's star is solar flare, leaving gravity for the end.

pošto sam luda za plavim i petrolej nijansama, ovaj lak bi trebalo da mi bude najmanje zanimljiv u kolekciji, ali ga volim u istoj meri!

rekla bih da je multihrom efekat najači u ovom laku. kada svetlost pada paralelno na nokat, dominantna boja je bordo, kao što možete videti na slikama na suncu, ali pod drugim uglovima, narandžasto-zlatna počinje da dominira, uz čak pomalo zelene. kao dodatak, ovaj lak ima čestice neravnomernog oblika koje u hladu izgledaju kao predivne bele krpice, a na suncu laku daju rasejani holo efekat.

nosila sam ga na isti način kao i ostale, jedan sloj preko jednog sloja crnog alessandro laka iz seta crystal punk, i bio mi je na noktima neverovatna tri dana..

since i am a blue and teal girl, this one was supposed to be the least appealing to me from the bunch, but it turns out i love it equally!

i feel like the colour shift is the strongest in this one. when the light comes parallel to the nail, the dominant colour is burgundy, as you can se from the photos in the sun, but at other angles, a sort of orange-gold starts to dominate, with even a hints of green. in addition, it has irregularly shaped particles that look like gorgeous white flakes in the shade, but add the scattered holo effect to the mix when you're in the sun.

i wore it in the same way as other shades,one coat over one coat of alessandro black out of crystal punk set, and had it on my nails for almost impossible 3 days!

a england excalibur revamped (the mythicals)

ovaj mesec završavam predstavljanjem prelepog laka excalibur (nova verzija) iz a england the mythicals kolekcije.

i will finish this month with the swatches of the gorgeous excalibur (the new version) from the a england's the mythicals collection.

volim da nosim lakove sa folijastom završnicom u jesen i zimu, i iako je vreme kod mene više prolećno, bez prave zime, ostajem verna ovakvim lakovima.

inspiracija za ime mi je jasna, sudeći po zvaničnom opisu: "čelično siva nijansa ispunjena šimerom različitih veličina, koji stvara fuziku srebrnog i zlatnog - nijansa koja se poklapa sa herojevom oštricom".

boja je teška za opisivanje, pošto je istovremeno i srebrna i zlatna, sa zrnastim, nepravilnim zlatnim ljuspicama. izgleda kao staro zlato, prekriveno patinom. po meni je prelepo, bogat, gladak i sa odličnom pokrivenošću.

slike su napravljene na direktnom svetlu i u senci.

i love wearing polishes with foil finish in the winter and autumn, so, even though the weather here is more of the spring kind, i'm staying loyal to these shades.

i can see the reason behind the name from the official description: "a steely grey hue filled with multi-dimensional shimmer, creating a unique fusion of silver and gold - a shade to match a hero's blade".

the colour is so hard to describe,  because it's both silver and gold, with grainy, irregular golden flakes. it has that old gold covered with patina feel. it's gorgeous, rich, with no brushstrokes and excellent opacity.

ovu godinu počinjem sa prelepim catrice lakom, genius in the bottle.

neću da kukam o tome koliko dugo mi je trebalo da objavim novi post. dosta radim, a i život u novoj, skoro egzotičnoj zemlji znači da barem virtualni život mora da ispašta, ali probaću da se bolje organizujem.

da se vratim na lak. ovaj lepotan je jedan od prvih, ako ne i najboljih duplikata za chanel peridot. veliki sam obožavalac duohrom završnice, pogotovo ako su boje u pitanju zlatna ka maslinastoj. ovo je poslednja catrice serija sa četkicom koju volim, tako da, plus i za to.

imam par slika na direktnom suncu, ali nisam preterano zadovoljna jer mi prsti izgledaju crvenkasto, dok "lightbox" slike pokazuju samo maslinasti deo spektra.

i'm not going to whine about how long it took me to write a new post. i am super busy at work, and living in a new, bit exotic country means that i have little time for my virtual life, but i'll try to organize better.

on to the polish. this baby is one of the first, if not the best, dupes for chanel peridot. i am big fan of duochromes, especially if the shades in question are olive green and gold. this was one of the last catrice polishes with a good brush, so it gets a plus there.

i have a couple of direct sunlight pictures, that i'm not too happy with since my fingers look a bit red, and my "lightbox" pictures show only the olive part of the specter.

chanel alchimie 591 (superstition)

chanel-ova kolekcija za ovu jesen se zove superstition, i u njoj su tri laka: elixir, mysterious (kog takođe imam) i današnja zvezda, alchimie. 

this autumn chanel collection is called superstition, and has three polishes: elixir, mysterious (that i also bought) and today's star, alchimie.

zvanični opisi nijansi su često problematični, ali mi se čini da je ovog puta uhvaćena suština: "zlatni khaki". promo slike su me uplašile da će biti neznatna razlika njega i peridot-a (kog inače obožavam, da me ne shvatite pogrešno), ali novitet ima dosta manje šimera i zlatnog tona.

već sam spominjala da obožavam maslinastu boju (a, recimo, masline ne mogu da smislim), tako da ni ovaj lak nije izuzetak. ovakve nijanse ili obožavate ili mrzite. iako ima metalik završnicu, formula je prilično dobra. vidi se poneki trag četkice, ali uživo su gotovo nevidljivi.

the official descriptions can be problematic, but this time, i think it captured the essence correctly: " a golden khaki". promo photos scared me that it would be really close to peridot (don't get me wrong, i'm a huge peridot fan), but the new one is much less shimmery and golden.

i mentioned already that i'm a huuuge fan of olive color (funny enough, i hate olives), so this one is not an exception. with these shades, you either love them or hate them. although it is a metallic polish, application is easy enough. there is a brushstroke here and there, but nothing really visible in real life.

opi - jinx (bond girls collection)

u opi-ju su odličili da cela letnja kolekcija bude posvećena liquid sand lakovima. uzela sam tri, i danas predstavljam jinx.

opi decided to do a summer collection that consists only of liquid sand polishes. i got three, and today i'm showing jinx.

their description: " this mesmerizing matte coral has lucky sparkle. "

kada sam gledala promo slike i svočeve blogerki, jinx je postao moj neočekivani favorit. znam da se ponavljam, ali koralne, breskvaste i slične nijanse mi nikad nisu legle, ali me je jinx nekako omađijao.


naručila sam lakiće kada sam poslednji put bila kući, ali se nešto zakompliovalo i paket nije stigao kad je trebalo i vratila sam se bez njih, a md je morao da se juri sa kurirom danima. baš sam bila nestrpljiva da ih probam, pa sam bila srećna da ih on ipak nije zaboravio da ponese sa sobom :D u međuvremenu sam prvi put videla jinx flašicu u parfimeriji, i ostala u blagom šoku jer je izgledao preintenzivno, prešljašteće, jednostavno previše.

ipak, kad sam ga konačno imala na noktima, to je bila potpuna ljubav. ovaj svetli koralac sa dosta jakim narandžastim tonom je idealan za leto. izgleda fantastično, suši brzo i skida se kao i svaki drugi lak. uhvatila sam sebe da stalno gledam u nokte.

when i was watching promo pictures, and then swatches from other bloggers, jinx became my surprising favorite. i'm repeating myself, but corals, peaches and similar shades were never my cup of tea, but jinx somehow mesmerised me!

i ordered my bottle on my last trip home, but something went wrong and my package didn't arrive when it was supposed to and i returned without the polishes, with my poor bf trying to pick it up for me. i was really anxious to try them, and was really happy that he didn't forget to pack them :D in the meantime, i saw the bottle of jinx in person, and left in a bit of a shock. it looked too intense, too flashy, too...much.


but then, i finally had it on my nails and it was complete love. this bright orangy coral with golden shimmer practically screams summer! it looks amazing, dries quickly and you can remove it regularly like any other polish. i caught myself often staring at my nails.

ysl - bronze pyrite

bila sam baš ljuta na sebe što nisam uzela i bronze pyrite kad i jade imperiale da kompletiram ysl prolećni duo. ipak, kada mi se pružila druga prilika, iskoristila sam je.

i was so angry at myself for not getting bronze pyrite with my jade imperiale to complete ysl's spring collection, but i got another chance to come across it and this time, i took it.

upravo se završava i druga nedelja svakodnevne, neprestane kiše u ljubljani. stvarno sam htela da napravim što bolje slike ovog laka, ali je to bilo nemoguće. verovatno ću ih zameniti boljim kad dođe malo sunca, ali nisam mogla da izdržim da ga ne probam.

volim lakove sa metalik završnicom, pa nije ni čudo da sam toliko želela ovaj lak. boja je kombinacija dosta različitih nijansi, sa kalajnom-limenom kao dominantnom, uz zlatnu i maslinastozelenu. pošto je ovo pravi metalik lak, može da ostavi vidljive tragove četkice, ali ništa preterano. još jednom, ne mogu dovoljno da se nahvalim ysl četkice i formule, odlični su!

we're now in at the end of the second week of full-on rain in ljubljana, and i really wanted to capture this polish perfectly but it was impossible. i will probably change the pictures once i make them in nicer weather, but i couldn't wait to wear it.


i do love metallic polishes, so it's no wonder i really wanted this one. the color is a combination of many different shades, with the pewter being the most dominant, followed by gold and olive green. since it is a true metallic polish, it can leave some brushstrokes, but nothing too messy. once again, i cannot praise the formula and brush enough, they are so amazing.

moram da priznam, od kad sam prvi put probala ruffian, postala sam malkice opsednuta. pošto je dogovor na ana.rs forumu bio da imamo novogodišnji tematski petak, u startu sam imala sliku zlatno-crvene kombinacije. koristila sam catrice oh my goldness! i ruby kisses - ruby slippers, jednu od varijacija na china glaze ruby pumps.

i have to admit, since i tried ruffian, it has become a bit of an obsession. and, when we agreed on ana.rs forum to have a new year challenge, it was clear to me that i'll have to do this gold-red combo. The polishes are catrice oh my goldness! and ruby kisses - ruby slippers, one of the dupes for china glaze ruby pumps.

kada se pojavila essence snow white kolekcija, premišljala sam se oko huntsman-a, ali pošto obožavam seriju "once upon a time" i lovac je prestao da bude ovo:

morala sam da ga uzmem. pošto je tema ovog petka plum, a moj jedini lak u ovoj boji je opi casino royale kog sam nedavno nosila, rešila sam da mu dodam huntsman kao nadlak. huntsman je gusta providna baza sa malim okruglim zlatnim šljokicama, velikim šestougaonim i čudnim trouglastim.

i had to take it! since it is a plum-themed friday, and my only plum is opi's casino royale that i wore recently, i decide to spice it up with the hunstman. it is a clear, thick base with small gold round glitter together with bigger hexagonal and the occasional weird triangle-shaped chunks.

china glaze cast a spell

dosta zanimljivih nijansi je bilo u china glaze kolekciji ove jeseni, ali je cast a spell bio taj koji me je odmah zainteresovao, i spada u jedan od lakova koji su me najviše oduševili ove godine.

i know that there were many interesting polishes in china glaze's wicked collection released this autumn, but cast a spell is the one i really really wanted. actually, this polish has to be one of my favorites this entire year!

ne znam da li uopšte rečima može da se opiše koliko je ovaj lak divan, a čak ni slike nisu dovoljne. bazna boja je tamno zelena / crna sa zelenim i zlatnim šimerom, mada, ako se udubite u bočicu, možete videti da ima još raznobojnih mikročestica. po meni, ovaj lak je jednoslojac. na ruci koju sam slikala sam dodala i drugi sloj, ali na kraju mislim da nije bio potreban. formula je zaista odlična. iako je dosta pigmentovan, uopšte nije gust i vrlo lako se maže.

oh, are there even words to describe how amazing this polish is, and even the pictures don't do it enough justice. it is a dark green going to black base with green and gold shimmer, but if you look really closely in the bottle, you can see that it is also packed with multicolored tiny shimmery particles. if you ask me, it is a one coater. i went with two after all, but i couldn't see the difference. the formula is beyond amazing. even though it is super pigmented, it is not thick and is really easy to work with.
