dior exquis (holiday 2011)

i was absent due to very unfortunate personal reasons, but the situation is improving and i am trying to go back to my routines. my polish of choice for this occasion is one of my first high end polishes, gorgeous exquis from dior's holiday 2011 collection. other polishes here were or divin, mervielle and apparat (that i wish i owned)

exquis is a very rich and complex shade. it is somewhere between olive green and brown, with a lot of gold shimmer running around. it's one of those edgy but classy polishes.

formula is great, but unfortunately, i got a weirdly cut brush. still workable, though, just making life more difficult.

ove nedelje nastavljam sa još jednom zelenom nijansom, 278 iz dance legend melange kolekcije.

this week i continue with another green polish, 278 from dance legend's melange collection.

bila sam u potrazi za savršenom maslinastom kremom, i pošto sam veliki obižavatelj dance legend formule i četkice, izabrala sam 278 iz kolekcije melange.

ovo je bogata, maslinasto/kamuflažna zelena, nijansa kakve mi je pun ormar a volim i da je imam i na noktima. formula je puterasta i definitivno velika preporuka s moje strane.

i was in a search for a perfect creme olive shade, and since i am a fan of dance legend formula and brush, decided to choose number 278 from their melange collection.

it is a rich, olive/camouflage green, a shade that i have a lot of in my wardrobe and love to have on my nails. the formula is buttery, and it's definitely a huge recommendation from me.

već nekoliko godina, kada sam pri kraju nekog laka i on dođe u stadijum u kom morate da zabijete četkicu duboko u flašicu da izvučete još koju kap laka, rešila sam da je život prekratak za takve akcije i samo ga presula u praznu bočicu. na kraju sam imala 6-7 bočica u te svrhe, i dodavala ostatke po osećaju.

nekako sam napunila više flašica u isto vreme, i rešila da počnem da pokazujem svoje kreacije. i gde god se pojavi novi lak, jedna od najzabavnijih stvari je smisliti mu ime. odlučila sam da imam muzičku temu, i prvi među njima je nazvan po the libertines pesmi time for heroes, jer mi je jedan od najboljih momentata godine prvi odlazak na njihov koncert.

time for heroes je uz to i moja omiljena nijansa, maslinasto zelena. ne previše tamna, uz dosta šimera. ko zna koji lakovi su morali da se žrtvuju za njegov nastanak, ali je bar rezultat dobar.

for years now, when i am about to finish the bottle of nailpolish, and it gets to that stage when you have to dig deep to get to use up a drop or two, i decided that life is too short for nail polish scraping, so i just pour it into an empty bottle. in the end, i had about 6 or 7 bottles for that purpose, and adding the leftovers by the hunch.

somehow i filled a few bottles at the same time, and decided to start showing off my creations. and where there is a new polish, there is the fun time of naming it. i decided to go with a music theme, so the first one will be named after the libertines song time for heroes, since one of the highlights of my year was seeing this very important band for me for the first time.

time for heroes' main theme is my favourite colour, olive green. not too dark, and filled with shimmer. who knows which polishes had to die in order for it to arise, but it's all for the best.

chanel misterious (superstition)

superstition je bila chanel jesenja kolekcija još 2013 i ne znam kako se desilo da sam ovoliko čekala da pokažem misterious .

superstition was chanel's autumn collection back in 2013, and i have no idea why i waited to show misterious until now.

misterious je opisan kao "duboka maslinasta" ali bih to duboko nazvala vrlo, vrlo dubokim.

nijansa je više zacrnjena maslinasta sa sivim i braon podtonovima.  pitanju je lepo klizeća krema, veoma elegantna i lepa.

prirodna svetlost:

misterious was described as a "deep khaki", but i would call that deep very, very deep.

it is more like a quite blackened olive green with some grey and brown undertones. a nicely flowing creme, very elegant and pretty.

danas pokazujem jednog starog favorita, agro iz china glaze kolekcije capitol colours iz 2012te.

maslinasto zelene nijanse su mi slaba tačka, i to ne samo kad su u pitanju nokti. agro je predivna, duboka maslinasta nijansa sa bogatim šimerom koji izgleda gotovo ljuspičasto.

formula nije najsjajnija. lak je prilično gust i nije ga lako kontrolisati. ipal, boja je toliko fenomenalna da mu opraštam nesavršenu formulu.

i have a weak spot in my heart for olive green shades, not only when it comes to nails. agro is simply stunning, deep olive green shade with abundant shimmer that almost looks flaky.

the formula is not great though. a bit on the thick side and not easy to control, but i forgive it all because the colour is simply stunning.

chanel peridot (illusions d'ombres fall 2011)

konačno je došao trenutak da pokažem predivni chanel peridot, iz jesenje kolekcije za 2011, illusions d'ombres.

i think it's about time to show the gorgeous chanel peridot, from the 2011 fall collection illusions d'ombres.

imam pričicu vezanu za peridot, priznajem da sam se kasno upoznala sa high end lakovima, ali je peridot bio prvi lak ove vrste za koji sam čula. pročitala sam članak u blicu, koji je predstavljao ovu novu kolekciju sa naglaskom kako je u većini zemalja već lista čekanja za peridot. meni je to bio šok, pa me je zanimalo kako lak zaista izgleda, i još se više iznenadila kad sam zaključila da je toliko lep da je vredan čekanja!

svakako je ovo jedna od nijansa sa kojima se osećam najprirodnije, iako mogu da razumem da je za neke ovakav lak previše. takođe razumem da prva asocijacija na njega obično nije istoimeni kamen, već muva zunzara. ipak, ova duohrom zeleno zlatna kombinacija (zelena je dominantnija u senci, dok je zlatna primarna na više svetlosti), uz moju ljubav prema metalik lakovima, mi je logična da bude jedna od nijansi koje su mnoge kompanije probale da imitiraju. iako posedujem catrice verziju, genius in the bottle, peridot mi je miljnik iz razloga koje ću detaljnije objasniti kad napravim post poređenja.

pošto je metalik, ima vidljivih poteza četkicom, ali je formula ipak neverovatno dobra.

when it comes to peridot, i have a story. i admit i am a latecomer when it comes to high end polishes, but peridot was the first polish of this kind that i heard of. there was an article in one serbian newspaper, that was about this collection and mentioned that in many countries, there's a waiting list for peridot. this honestly shocked me, so i was interested to see how this polish looked like, and was surprised that i immediately fell in love with it!

and it sure is one of the shades i feel most comfortable with, although i can understand that it can be too much for some people. i also understand that the first association to it is not the stone of the same name, but the common fly. nevertheless, this combination of greenish gold duochrome (green more dominant in the shade, while gold wins in direct light), with my love for metallic finishes, makes it obvious to me why so many companies tried to make the dupe for it. i own catrice's version, genius in the bottle, and although i love it, i prefer peridot for the reasons i'll explain more thoroughly once i make a comparison post.

it is metallic, therefore brushstrokey, but the formula is impeccable.

ovu godinu počinjem sa prelepim catrice lakom, genius in the bottle.

neću da kukam o tome koliko dugo mi je trebalo da objavim novi post. dosta radim, a i život u novoj, skoro egzotičnoj zemlji znači da barem virtualni život mora da ispašta, ali probaću da se bolje organizujem.

da se vratim na lak. ovaj lepotan je jedan od prvih, ako ne i najboljih duplikata za chanel peridot. veliki sam obožavalac duohrom završnice, pogotovo ako su boje u pitanju zlatna ka maslinastoj. ovo je poslednja catrice serija sa četkicom koju volim, tako da, plus i za to.

imam par slika na direktnom suncu, ali nisam preterano zadovoljna jer mi prsti izgledaju crvenkasto, dok "lightbox" slike pokazuju samo maslinasti deo spektra.

i'm not going to whine about how long it took me to write a new post. i am super busy at work, and living in a new, bit exotic country means that i have little time for my virtual life, but i'll try to organize better.

on to the polish. this baby is one of the first, if not the best, dupes for chanel peridot. i am big fan of duochromes, especially if the shades in question are olive green and gold. this was one of the last catrice polishes with a good brush, so it gets a plus there.

i have a couple of direct sunlight pictures, that i'm not too happy with since my fingers look a bit red, and my "lightbox" pictures show only the olive part of the specter.

chanel alchimie 591 (superstition)

chanel-ova kolekcija za ovu jesen se zove superstition, i u njoj su tri laka: elixir, mysterious (kog takođe imam) i današnja zvezda, alchimie. 

this autumn chanel collection is called superstition, and has three polishes: elixir, mysterious (that i also bought) and today's star, alchimie.

zvanični opisi nijansi su često problematični, ali mi se čini da je ovog puta uhvaćena suština: "zlatni khaki". promo slike su me uplašile da će biti neznatna razlika njega i peridot-a (kog inače obožavam, da me ne shvatite pogrešno), ali novitet ima dosta manje šimera i zlatnog tona.

već sam spominjala da obožavam maslinastu boju (a, recimo, masline ne mogu da smislim), tako da ni ovaj lak nije izuzetak. ovakve nijanse ili obožavate ili mrzite. iako ima metalik završnicu, formula je prilično dobra. vidi se poneki trag četkice, ali uživo su gotovo nevidljivi.

the official descriptions can be problematic, but this time, i think it captured the essence correctly: " a golden khaki". promo photos scared me that it would be really close to peridot (don't get me wrong, i'm a huge peridot fan), but the new one is much less shimmery and golden.

i mentioned already that i'm a huuuge fan of olive color (funny enough, i hate olives), so this one is not an exception. with these shades, you either love them or hate them. although it is a metallic polish, application is easy enough. there is a brushstroke here and there, but nothing really visible in real life.

opi - at your quebec and call (canada collection)

opi's at your quebec and call je uvek bio na vrhu moje liste starih opi lakova koje je nemoguće naći. deo je stare kanadske kolekcije iz 2004te, tako da ima staru formulu i užu četkicu (takozvani black label opi).

opi's at your quebec and call was always at the top of my list of their impossible to find oldies. it was a part of canadian collection back in the 2004, so it has the old formula and narrow brush (so-called black label opi).

nisam zaista mislila da ću ga se dokopati, ali ga je jedna devojka kod mene prodavala i znala sam da se ova šansa ne propušta.

svi black label opiji imaju ređu formulu, tako da sam bila pripremljena na to da će mi trebati 3 sloja za pristojnu pokrivenost, ali je bilo vredno toga! na kraju, sve zavisi od toga da li volite ovakve nijanse, a ja sam oduvek bila luda za maslinastom tako da ni ova nije bila izuzetak.

može se naći dosta opisa ovog laka, počevši od zacrnjene zlatne, ali za mene je ovo zlatno-maslinasta šimerasta savršenost!

i never actually thought i'll get a chance to own it, but one girl was selling it and i knew i couldn't miss the chance!

all of these black label opis have thinner formula, so i was prepared that it would take 3 coats to reach decent opacity. but it was worth it! i guess it all depends whether you like those type of shades, and i've always been crazy about olive greens so this one is no exception.

you can find a lot of different descriptions of this color, starting from blackened gold, but for me this is a golden olive shimmery wonder!

ysl - bronze pyrite

bila sam baš ljuta na sebe što nisam uzela i bronze pyrite kad i jade imperiale da kompletiram ysl prolećni duo. ipak, kada mi se pružila druga prilika, iskoristila sam je.

i was so angry at myself for not getting bronze pyrite with my jade imperiale to complete ysl's spring collection, but i got another chance to come across it and this time, i took it.

upravo se završava i druga nedelja svakodnevne, neprestane kiše u ljubljani. stvarno sam htela da napravim što bolje slike ovog laka, ali je to bilo nemoguće. verovatno ću ih zameniti boljim kad dođe malo sunca, ali nisam mogla da izdržim da ga ne probam.

volim lakove sa metalik završnicom, pa nije ni čudo da sam toliko želela ovaj lak. boja je kombinacija dosta različitih nijansi, sa kalajnom-limenom kao dominantnom, uz zlatnu i maslinastozelenu. pošto je ovo pravi metalik lak, može da ostavi vidljive tragove četkice, ali ništa preterano. još jednom, ne mogu dovoljno da se nahvalim ysl četkice i formule, odlični su!

we're now in at the end of the second week of full-on rain in ljubljana, and i really wanted to capture this polish perfectly but it was impossible. i will probably change the pictures once i make them in nicer weather, but i couldn't wait to wear it.


i do love metallic polishes, so it's no wonder i really wanted this one. the color is a combination of many different shades, with the pewter being the most dominant, followed by gold and olive green. since it is a true metallic polish, it can leave some brushstrokes, but nothing too messy. once again, i cannot praise the formula and brush enough, they are so amazing.

catrice 660 i'm a star je lak koji je bio moj zaštitni znak prošle jeseni, a kog sam ove iz nekog razloga zapostavila.

catrice 660 i'm a star was my go-to polish for the entire last autumn, but i seem to have neglected it for quite some time.

nije za čuđenje to koliko volim ovaj lak, jer je maslinasto zelena moja omiljena boja, i većina garderobe mi je maslinasta.

boja je prelepa maslinasta uz dašak bronze i suptilnim zlatnim šimerom, koji mu daje notu rustičnosti. formula je divna, u kombinaciji sa starom, savršenom catrice četkicom, tako da problema u nanošenju nije bilo. stvarno ću morati da ga mažem češće!

my love for this polish is not strange, since i'm a big fan of olive green and the majority of my clothes is in this shade.

the color is olive green with a hint of bronze and with subtle gold shimmer, giving it a somewhat rustic note. the formula is good with that old, perfect catrice brush, so no problem in application. i should really wear it more often.
